About Me

http://www.facebook.com/mashaal.makeup

My earliest memory with makeup is being five years old and discovering my mum’s professional makeup box. I remember being in awe of the spectrum of colours and smothering multi-coloured eye shadows all over my eyes, lips and cheeks. Several disapprovals and broken lipsticks later, I began my development in makeup artistry.

Being a protégée of Sadaf Arshad, a highly reputable Hair & Make-up artist and also my mother, I have probably had the most hands on training, as she was always there to continuously improve and direct my skills. She taught me to be the best version of myself which I am endlessly trying to achieve in my makeup.

Art, Fashion & Design run in my blood. Being an alumni of Central St Martins School of Art & Design and currently a Fashion student at the London College Of Fashion, I understand how important it is to have technical, professional, creative and conceptual skills necessary to be a creative practitioner, be it in the field of Fashion or Makeup. It is this understanding that I take forward in my work, committed to reach the highest level of perfection.

Everyone is beautiful- and as much as that’s a cliché, it’s true. However, the confidence makeup provides once the beauty from within is captured goes deeper than a bit of lippy and a dash of eyeshadow. It is no different than any other art form and being based in London, the melting pot of fashion, creativity and the freedom of artistic expression, is an advantage as it provides me with inspiration every single day.
