As designer and owner of Poirier, I try to really take the body into consideration when I design. While the designs themselves are important, the most important thing to consider is the form it's being designed FOR, because by keeping that in mind, it will always look better than if the form is disregarded. I have an old-fashioned design style, with "simpler" designs that are more focused on complex fitting and tailoring than on complex decoration and styles. While I love women's wear and have grown up making custom gowns, I love the structure and "science" of menswear, and will soon be adding a men's line to my collection. Having said all that, I need to meet great models for both fit, runway and print! As time goes on I'll need both males and females for all of these categories, but as I am getting going, I'm starting with the girls! "Ladies first," after all, right?
