About Me

Hello MM'ers welcome to my page, I hope you take a look around, and I really hope you like what you see.

I'm really not much of a writer, and I don't really know what kind of info you are looking for, so I will write this as sort of a faq section answering some of the typical questions I get:

What tools do you use for your work? Adobe CS5, Wacom Tablet, Spyder color-calibrated monitors, Dual Quad-Core AMD 64 Opterons w/ 10 gig Ram, Sony NX5U Camera, Avid.

Do you do TF work? Yes, as I build my portfolio I am always interested in interesting work. But please keep in mind that TF work will be done when I have time, and this means no deadlines without pay, much like yourself, I have to pay bills to survive, and therefore my survival takes first priority. Also, photomanipulations that are done for free will most likely use stock images that are aquired for free, and therefore will have specific rules based on where they may be used. You will be given the location of any rules reguarding the use of the final image by the suppliers of the stock images.

What type of work are you looking for? I would like to build a small group of clients that do regular work. Photographers that are more interested in shooting and mastering their art than spending time in front of a computer cleaning up images are my preferance. But I am also interested in single image manipulations or clean up, really anything that can make my portfolio and your project better.

What qualifies you to work on my photos? I have been using photoshop for at least 15 years. I have a bacholors degree in Visual Arts from the University of Washington. I read tutorials and photoshop magazines daily. But most importantly I do the work, I practice and get better every day. It bugs me when I see artists consider themselves masters, because that implies that they don't continue learning, and as photography is an evolving art, there will always be something else to learn.

So how do you approach your work? I believe in maintaining the photographers intentions. If I do my job right, you should not even know that I exist.

Where are your "Before and After" shots? Again, my job here is not to exist. And a photographer should never let work exist on the web that does not show their greatest potential. By showing a "Before" shot and linking it to the photographer can only hurt the photographers reputation, and therefore I will not do it. Just know that every image you see on my portfolio has been worked on to the best of my ability, and whether it was perfect to start with, or terrible, it is as it exists now, and if I have it in my portfolio than I am proud of the work I did.

How much do you charge? Money is always a case by case basis. Everything I do is custom work, and therefore takes time. Larger groups of shots by the same photographer using the same cameras and lighting make it possible to create minor automations (actions in Photoshop talk) and therefore speed up the process which in turn decresses the amout I charge (simple, no?) If you woulds like a quote, send me a low rez version of the image(s), along with a description of the deadline, what you would like done, and how big the full rez image is, and I will get back to you.

Why did you send me a friend request? I dig your work, and I want to be your friend. You seem like the kind of person I would grab a beer with and watch a ball game. Maybe I need a ride to the airport or help moving. Why, you don't want to be my friend?

Do you accept friend requests? Of course I do, but you should be warned, I already have a bestest friend, and I have to check with my mom before I can sleep over.

Aren't you just on here looking for a date? Not at all, I am here to create art. My communications will always be profession. If I have commented on a photo with terms like "Sexy" "Lovely" "Breath-taking" etc. they are strictly used to describe the shot, pose, and/or lighting. Besides, my girlfriend wouldn't like that, and she makes me happy so I am not interested in ruining the best thing I have going for me.
