My Artist Statement~
My work reflects me. I fly by the seat of my pants. I am a mother, a girl, a sadist, a procrastinator, a curator, and a stirrer of the proverbial Shit pot of life. I make a beautiful mess.
I have worked with all kinds of media; Photos, crayons, glass, paint, fabric, etc. For the past three years, the majority of my completed works has been black and white analog photography. Through photography I have been able to create art that is me. I find solitude and serenity in the dark room. There is no laundry to do there, no diapers to change, no one clamoring for my attention it’s just me and my ideas. I am a mom, after all and we have to find ourselves a place in the world not just in our children’s lives. In the dark room my inner peace is found.
Each photo I take enables me to create a “looking glass” for myself. I can figuratively put myself in the shoes I was wearing when I took the picture. I seek out beauty in the everyday, the ordinary and the inconspicuous. I create memories from the seemingly meaningless.
I go where the wind takes me; Sometimes, to abandoned homes and sites of desertion. I truly believe that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. If trash was once treasure, why can’t one revive those unique aspects? I seek out what has been left behind, what has been victimized by time and decay. I want to memorialize those things, and keep them as my treasures. I want to elicit a reaction from you. I want you to feel something. I want you to make up your own mind and develop your experiences based on what I put in front of you.

I have my own Stylist and Make-up artist available if needed.

I am very willing to do any kind of shoot that you are comfortable with!
(with-in reason, no snuff or scat)
