Hi, thanks for checking out my port. I have recently received my BFA in illustration from Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, and moved to Paducah, Kentucky.
I have been painting since the late 70"s, and as a young man, did custom paint work in my fathers Auto-body shop. Later, I did custom paint work just for friends and family.
Six years ago I started Sly Designs, a custom paint service, at the insistence of my wife. "If your going to do all this paint work, you should get paid for it" she would say, and she was right. (Just don't tell her).
As the economy started to dry up, so did the custom paint work, so I felt that this was the best time to get that formal education I had been missing. I enrolled in MIAD, and It has been the 2nd best decision I have ever made.
The school and other students has open my eyes to other forms of art, that up to that point, I had never considered. Now I'm more focused on mixed media (acrylic, watercolors, and ink) paintings depicting hot women, cool cars, and the lifestyle that most people want, are living, or have lived.
I'm always on the look out for models, subjects, and objects for my paintings. My hope is that by becoming a Model Mayhem member, that at least one of those needs will be satisfied, if not all, and perhaps to do some collaborative work also. Thanks again for checking out my work, Sly.
