I've worked in commercial film and video since 2006. In 2009 I got out but still like to keep ties to that community. Some of the best people I know in Seattle are in the industry. Photography can so be so rewarding with little effort invested. It gets easier and easier to do incredible things and alas ideas burgeon about projects. I mostly like shooting urban settings, fashion, and interesting people. Collaboration is often fun. Get me a good model, location, a few hours, and interesting lighting ideas and it's amazing what can happen. Good luck to you guys out there. I'd be don't be afraid to do a worthy project even if it doesn't pay, if the people are competent and cool. Cheers!
