My love for this industry all started with me back when I was just a little girl. Growing up around a mother who was living the dream that I am now living was a blessing in disguise.

With my mothers influence and support all around me, I started finding my own ways to transude into the world of beauty. I started with youtube videos, yes i know it sounds silly. But in the beginning it was all the resources I had.

Before I knew it, I was visiting a beauty school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A place 6 hours away from my hometown near Milwaukee. The school drew me in with their enormous opportunities and welcoming feelings. Aveda Institute soon become my home in August 2011. From there I networked through friends at school and met my wonderful partner in crime; photographer PeggySue Ihimy. It's been amazing working with one another and seeing our progress and our skills advancing with each shoot that we do. Seeing all the outcomes of our work gives me hope and motivation for all the things to come my way.

Aside from the editorial shoots I have been keeping myself busy with little "odds and ends" jobs pertaining to my career.

My first glimpse into the wonderful chaos of this industry came to me this year in march for New York Fashion Week 2013. I had entered and won a hair color and cut competition that had blessed me with this amazing experience. Wella, a world-reknowned hair company, sent me out there to enjoy first hand things I never dreamed of seeing so soon in my career. It was just amazing, having that feeling of “I don't know what i'm doing but i'm doing it and its just going to get done.” This was a huge turning point for me and it's one I will never forget.

As for now, I'm slowly making more and more connections into this industry and learning so much from the different people I have met. Next on my agenda, I will be out in Las Vegas this coming July for a huge national competition for Wella called North American Trend Vision Awards (NATVA). I am so determined to make a name for myself doing what I love and that is all I could ever ask for.
