ABOUT ME:
I'm Katey Dee, a part time model and the owner and sole technician at Katey Dee Spray Tanning, an award winning, registered, home-based salon offering spray tanning, gel toenails and hair & makeup services.

This profile is to display the hair and makeup side of my business, in regards to the modeling industry.

As a model, I have been in the modeling industry for 5 years now (and have in fact held a 'model' account here on MM for the duration of that time) and have a vast experience with photoshoots. I have particiated in, and organised close to 80 photoshoots during my time in the industry and have modeled for artist port folios, magazine submissions, commercial shoots, art exhibitions, websites, companies, brands, calendars, events and pageants.

During this time, I discovered quite an interest in hair and makeup, and being involved in so many photo shoots gave me the opportunity to work with many hair stylists and makeup artists over the years. This gave me a keen insight into the hair and makeup world, and my exposure to this side of the industry only added to my interest. Even before I started gaining my official qualifications as a makeup artist, I had also succeeded in creating my own hair and makeup styles and looks on myself for my own photoshoots, for years.

Due to high demand, I have recently decided to venture into hair and makeup in my spray tanning salon and decided to gain my qualifications. Naturally, having been so heavily involved in the modeling industry, I would like to bring my hair and makeup work outside of my salon, and into photoshoots as well.

I am currently not modeling anymore, but don't want to leave the modeling industry completely, so I made the decision to start working behind the camera in the creation process - as being the hair and makeup artist for photoshoots, instead of the model.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
As well as being experienced in self taught styles over the years (paticularly vintage/pin up makeup and victory rolls/vintage hair styles), I have also been officially trained by Clementines Designs Makeup School in the following styles - bridal, glamour, corporate, runway, fashion, creative, daywear and night makeup ect. As well as GHD curls, braiding and various updo styles.

TF/PAID:
As makeup and hair styling (as well as my spray tanning and gel toenails) is my profession and way of making a living, I prefer to take on paid shoots only, as with regular clients in my salon my 'spare' time is limited. However I am more than willing to participate in some select TF shoots if I am paticularly fond of the model and photographer, and feel as though the images would benefit greatly to my folio.

I will also be teaming up with my favourite photographer and close friend Malin Viktoria Photography, to offer 'Boudoir' photoshoot packages. Malin and I have worked together as a model/photographer team for 5 years now, so it seemed natural for us to expand this partnership into a MUA/photographer team as well.

TRAVEL:
I am located in Minden QLD (an hour West of Brisbane), and as I have an actual salon and have my own makeup set up, I love working here from in my salon, but am also willing to travel for the right photoshoot.
