About Me

I'm a Chicago based creative, doing photography, assisting, graphic design, content generation, audio installation, live sound mixing and theater sound design.

My primary passion, ever since I was a kid, is photography.

When I first joined Model Mayhem years ago, I mostly used this as a place to find models for projects, when my clients did not already have their own models lined up. But in recent years, I have not been active in the Model Mayhem community.

Covid has made this past year tough for many creatives. Life is certainly different now. And work is still uncertain in the year ahead for a lot of us. Thinking about how much life has changed,  I've come to realize that I really miss spending time being creative and free. I'm not talking about working on some exciting project for a client. I'm talking about those moments when you get busy creating just for the fun of creating. A lot of my best work, has always come from carefree creative sessions, playing around with ideas and my camera. Sometimes those moments happen in solitude on a sleepless night. And other times, I'm inspired when I have the opportunity to collaborate with someone else.

In this new year, I'm looking to be more intentional about taking time to play and be more creative again. I don't want the creative process to always be about work. I want to make art just for the fun of it. I did that a lot more when I was younger and it always made me happy.

So as I’m getting reconnected here on Model Mayhem, at the moment I'm not looking for models for any commercial shoots. I'm really looking more for a muse. I find collaborations to be energizing and inspiring. I've had a few opportunities in life, when for a period of time, I was working closely with someone else, and we were making art together, exploring ideas, and inspiring each other. Several years ago, I met an artist who did some modeling for me. We hit it off, and for about 4 months we would regularly get together to explore ideas with paint and camera. Sometimes the work we did was crap. Other times it was amazing. Over those 4 months, I taught him photography and he started shooting. Then I started modeling for him. It was a great working relationship, with a lot of give and take, from which we both learned and were inspired.

Ideally, it would be great to meet someone I could work regularly with like that again, to hopefully help keep each other inspired through the end of this pandemic. Remember when you were in art classes in school? Do you remember how much fun it was to have the freedom to explore and play with all sorts of ideas? I want to start connecting with people who are interested in being a kid again, and make art for the fun of making art.

I’m also still available for work. Looking for headshots? I start at $100. And obviously, I'm very open to TFP shoots. (TFP is what I’m really looking for at the moment.) I'm always up for trying new things. Have an idea for something different? Hit me up.

A few of my photos are self-portraits, and yes, I do modeling for other artists sometimes. So if you're looking for an art model, hit me up for that as well.
