About Me
Hello, my name is James (that grumpy lookin dude in the profile photo), thanks for checking out my page!
More of my work can be found on my DeviantArt page. Anyone else feel exceedingly out of practice after this pandemic thing?? I know I am, seems people have no use for a shutterbug when they have AI filters that make them look amazing. I need to create some art!! I am a hobby level shutterbug with over 35 years experience with various forms of photography (mostly tooling around, I wont lie), in the last several years trying to expand & refine my skill with photographing people. I started photography as a means to record my journeys throughout my Navy career, where my primary experience was with 35mm and some medium format film shooting landscapes and cities. I learned with film, and still shoot that way despite having gone digital years ago. Lately my focus has been on low-key shadow play and bodyscapes. Black and white images that tease the viewer with curves, textures, edges of the body, illuminated in the deep shadows, but never revealing the whole package. I want to tease the eye, make the viewer use their imagination, maybe explore a fantasy. Personally I find a good tease is *much* sexier than the full Monty. Make people think, that's the kind of model I'm seeking as well. An advantage to this kind of shoot, no MUA required and I can shoot almost anywhere. For models that have ideas, bring it. I am open to ANY kind of shoot (try me, I don't surprise easily). I'm up for anything from the mundane to the freaky, whatever helps me expand my experience base, allows me to experiment, & of course sounds like fun! I have some ideas that range across the spectrum, but I prefer to work with someone before I try to match them to a concept. Noteworthy: *I don't generally do paid work, or pay for work, this is just a hobby and looking for creative people to join forces and make art with. *I am willing to travel between the BC border and Seattle (I work in Mukilteo), further for people I have worked well with before, and I always offer to pay for fuel for someone coming out of their way to do some location work. *When possible, I prefer to meet before planning a shoot so we can go over what each of us is looking for, ideas, etc., and get a feel for each other. It helps everyone relax when they have an idea of what to expect when the lens cap comes off. *Escorts are OK, encouraged even, so long as they don't interfere (or I may put them to work!), as I am often accompanied/assisted by my wife. Gotta be safe & sane these days! I had hoped I never needed to get on flakes, but: If you change your mind, fine, let me know. If schedules conflict, something comes up, etc., fine, doo doo occurs, let me know. If for ANY reason what so ever you cannot make a meet/shoot, just PLEASE, let me know as early as possible! Thanks!
