Marvin D'souza was born in the sea-side city of Bombay, and attended St Anthony's High School, followed by Wilson College, where read mass media, with a specialisation in journalism. All the while living and breathing fashion and couture. On graduating from Wilson College, D'souza threw himself into embarking on a career in fashion, first as a fashion stylist and consultant. Mid-Day, Pogo Channel, The Hindustan Times: Brunch, and a host of ad films, with co- stylist Niyoti Upadhey and promos proved to be a fitting stepping-stone into what he realised he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Before long, he was planning, styling, and writing a weekly column on current fashion trends for The Hindustan Times. Since then, recent times find D'souza styling for individual-designer runway shows like Launch collection of designer Haasya Chandna's Kazamiir and the Energie Jeans Spring collection at Lakme Fashion Week with Gautam Kalra, as a style/fashion consultant and personal shopper for a host of businessmen, celebrities like Purab Kohli and Tarana Raja and musicians, and styling for ad films. He is also a keen observer and commentator on fashion and style, and their ever-obvious extension of real-world influences and events. In 2011 he made his debut in doing costumes, with co-stylist, Niyoti Upadhey, for plays with Motley's Arms and the Man, where he designed and styled 19th century East-European garments for Naseerudin Shah, Ratna Pathak and Randeep Hooda. Currently a frequent guest blogger with well known and read celebrity blog, MissMalini.com. He also runs his own Blog, punkturebymarvd.blogspot.com As a writer, D'souza loves nothing more than fashionising journalism, and sharing all there is to learn, know, and discover on this ever-changing, evolving, and reflective subject of one of society's oldest traditions and rituals, while it valiantly and gloriously holds its place in the world as it is today. As a stylist, he brings his string belief that style is genetic and a self expression of the soul and fashion is an artistic display of style.
