I'm a commercial photographer based in Glasgow, but available to work across Scotland and Northern England. I've started to extend my range into various styles of image involving models from fashion to alternative. I'm able to offer competitive rates for portfolio shoots, and can organise a makeup artist to make you look your best.

I'm also happy to work as a lighting director for larger shoots with a production company or other photographer. Get in touch for my rates.

Shoots

I believe my portfolio speaks for itself. I pride myself in being very versatile, while always providing a very high standard of final images whatever the brief. I have the equipment and expertise available to take on a wide variety of projects, even at fairly short notice. Only exceptionally large productions or unusual briefs will require me to hire in additional equipment.

I don't have a studio. I simply hire studio time when required. This works well because it keeps my location shoot prices lower if I don't have to cover high studio running costs the rest of the time.

I'm also very interested to hear from makeup artists, hair stylists, wardrobe stylists and any other creative minds interested in working TFCD who have good ideas. If you need me to provide the equipment and technical expertise, I'll happily hear your idea and give you an instant answer on whether I have the time to spare to do it properly. If I've worked with you before, you'll know how open I am to this approach. On the other hand, if you haven't worked with me, but the idea and your work is good, there's a good chance I'll go for it. I feel it's very important to fill quiet time with the highest standards of personal work to keep my portfolio fresh, and if that can benefit other portfolios too, that's an added bonus.

Information for Makeup Artists

I often work with makeup artists who are currently in education and wanting to do course work. Depending on the quality of the idea, and my expectation of the makeup work and choice of model, I may well work TFCD.

In all cases, if I'm being paid, the makeup artist will be being paid as well (except where the mua is also the client). I expect that makeup artists will bring their own supplies as necessary for the shoot, and will fund these themselves out of the money they're being paid.

In the case of TFCD shoots, I similarly expect that makeup artists will decide whether to take on the work based on their expectations of the images they'll receive. As such, the makeup costs are the risk taken to have the possibility of gaining high quality portfolio images. If a makeup artist doesn't have a high expectation for the images, there's no need to take on the job - in fact, I'd rather work with someone who does have a high expectation for the images and is willing to work hard to help achieve it, both in makeup and in bringing a creative edge to the shoot in other ways!

I may on a case by case basis provide some budget where makeup borders on props, such as items like flowers for hair and so on.

Collaborations:

I'm only working on strong ideas which will result in images with plenty of "wow" factor. If you're just after ordinary everyday shots, I'm happy to discuss my rates. Collaborations are all about a team coming together to push their boundaries!

I've had a few problems with the reviews I used to do, where some negative points I made regarding people I've worked with were taken badly. I've therefore decided to simply make this a list of people who I've enjoyed working with on at least one occasion and would say that based on my experiences, you should have a pleasant experience working with this person. They may have some negative aspects in the way they work, but overall you should have a good experience.
