About Me
J'Me Penc currently resides in Nashville, TN where he's called home for 20 years.

J’Me’s roots began in upstate New York, on the edge of the Adirondacks, where he was surrounded by amazing subject matter to photograph. His parents gave him a small 110 instamatic camera as a kid, and this was the start of his creative eye at an early age, shooting many things that caught his attention.

J'Me was fortunate to be mentored by two art teachers in high school that encouraged him in all aspects of his creativity and a junior high music teacher that further developed his artistic, musical side. After graduating from high school, J'Me was accepted to Syracuse University but opted to go the community college route while playing music with his band for two years before moving to New York City/ Long Island area to pursue his musical path with some regional success. He moved back to Clinton, NY and worked in radio for six years as a radio personality while writing and performing his music before he moved to Nashville to pursue his music and begin photographing  the beauty of Tennessee.

"Photography is an odd art form.  Painters and sculptures and most galleries don't' see it as art.  It's a form of art that has science attached to it with such things as the inverse square law with lighting ratios and apertures and developing.

I do find it amazing how you can give 20 people cameras and tell them to shoot the same subject matter and get 20 different ways of looking at the same subject matter.  With that, perhaps photography can open up people's minds to look at life through someone else's eyes and say, "I never looked at it like that before" and possibly become a little more open minded and more tolerable of each other's ideas and thoughts.  And eventually make the World a better place by at least starting to understand where others are coming from and opening up dialogue instead of not wanting to see nor listen.

And with that, photography can be powerful stuff.
I'm in the process of revamping and relaunching a completely new site.
