What an interesting half year it's been for me! I decided last April to try OMP and see how much fun I would have shooting with models I met off the internet. For the most part, it's been a wonderful experience. A few highlights:

Alaina was the first model to contact me through OMP and schedule a shoot. She's tall! Alaina was just starting out and trying modeling on for size. She was a pleasure to work with, and a good person to have as my first 'internet model.' Unfortunately, I don't think she's modeling any more.

Jessalyn is one of Model Mayhem's best known models. It's weird to think that it wasn't that long ago that she started out. When her profile went up on OMP, I left her a 'desire to work with' comment. I didn't really think much of it at the time, as I would leave those on the profiles of new girls who looked cute. There was little in her port that made her stand out to me.
That changed once I met Jessalyn. It's hard to explain, but it quickly became evident that her port did her no justice. And once we started shooting, I did not want to stop. Neither did Jessie, but she had a two hour drive back home. So we stopped around 1:00 in the morning.

I drove down to Tulsa to work with LadyBird. She was the first model I traveled to work with, and the first internet model to do nudes with me. At 19 years old, she was like an old pro. A real pleasure to work with, and very hard working.

I think this photo, more than any other, is where the legend was born. The forecasters were calling for a weekend of severe thunderstorms, and I contacted every model I could find to see who wanted to go play in the rain. They all said they wanted to, but they were busy.
Jessie was busy on Saturday, too. She had a shoot with another photographer. But she'd be willing to drive up that night and shoot with me the next day. She did -- through a monsoon that had her car hydroplaning.
Next day, it was sunny. She came over anyway, and we shot for a bit in the basement. She was on her way out the door with the tornado sirens went off. Everybody else headed inside -- Jessie and I ran outside and shot in the most severe thunderstorm of 2006.

Amy has one of the largest modeling profiles on OMP, and I really appreciated her work. Frankly, I was little intimidated by the sheer volume of work she had, including some 'shut up and model' shots. I was therefore very pleasantly surprised when she left me some comments on OMP. She and her BF drove to KC to work with me and we had a wonderful time and a very productive shoot. Some of my favorite shots of 2006 came from working with Amy.

Jessie and I drove up to Chicago and met up with Carrie, who was just delightful. She has a wonderful sense of humor, and I certainly appreciate a woman who eats cow heart at a Korean restaurant.

SickShooter is right up there with Jessalyn in my book. Not only is she gorgeous, but she has a tremendous personality that translates to photos. I think if she lived in a bigger city, she'd get a lot more recognition than she does. She does whatever it takes to get a great shot, and she's worth driving down to Springfield to work with.

The same night I ran around with Kat, I also ran around with Soma. Soma was tremendously fun, and it was obvious she really enjoyed working with me. She had lots of ideas of her own and was up for anything. Truly a pleasure to work with.

What can I say about these two that hasn't been said before? Terrific models. Highly recommended. You might want to avoid working with Iona around her birthday, though, as her butt has the habit of bruising when paddled.

Wow! Heidie won the genetic lottery. Gorgeous face, with full lips and pretty eyes and lovely hair. She's over six feet tall and has legs that go on forever. She was just terrific to work with, and is on my list of models that I look forward to working with again.

Alex lives in Florida, but she's from Kansas City. She flew up for Christmas and arranged to shoot with me while she was here. I'm glad she did! We froze our butts off yesterday, but we had a fabulous time. Alex is a natural model, with a thousand different poses that all seem to photograph beautifully. I wish we'd had more time!
Pretty good year, I'd say!
