so i'm searching for the perfect white foundation... i've got a shoot coming up at the end of the month that i'd like to use it for and the two i've tried so far aren't quite doing it for me.

i've used ben nye's clown white... which works out ok, but it takes a ridiculous amount of work to get a good EVEN application. it spreads and blends so poorly.

then i tried MAC's [i know, i know] paint stick in pure white, and it got rather dry and chalky, and was really hard to get some opacity from.

i know there are some more options out there, especially in the more theatric realm. any recommendations for a nice opaque white face for print?

thanks in advance!

Face Atelier's zero minus would probably do the job. I use it to lighten up all kinds of products, (including other FA foundations) but I'm sure it'd be great as a white foundation since that's essentially what it is.

You can do a mix of a lil clown white with the most pale foundation you can find... It does the trick... it makes a nice consistancy... Great Luck!

I am rabid MUFE fan I have to say, but I had such a hard time with Cream Color in white (Cynthia can tell you, she had to spread it on the models body as well). Bronze and Gold white cream were acting fine. But White was just major hassle.
It got dry very fast and it kept flaking off, no matter what I did or how much moisturizer I mixed in it. It was nightmare to work with (maybe it was bad batch).
I had to buff in so much white pigment in the body do defuse blotchiness of it.
It made me so frustrated because I like to think of myself as master of white, even skin, but this would not budge. My ego was bruised LOL..
I prefer Kryolan white pan stick, L' Atelier 0 minus or MUFE flash color in white.

Weird, I use this all the time mixed with other foundations (all my photos with white skin) and have had no issues at all. Maybe it was a bad batch or something?

I am trying something new soon so we will see how much luck I have! My ego could end up being very bruised too wink

I like Kryolan colors alot.
I'm not sure exactly what you are doing but" Supracolor" White is very good. Aquacolor is water based but not as smooth as Supracolor.
They also make an airbrush white too.
Here is a link.

Good Luck.

Yeah, that MUFE white cream color was a pain in the a**! I'm thinking it was a bad batch, a REALLY bad batch. I've used the MAC white cream (was provided for me) for a runway show and mixed it with lotion and had some nice results with it.

I was asked to do Kabuki-style fashion makeup for a fashion/mixed media  event in South Beach last Fall.
I mixed FA Zero Minus foundation with MUFE Flash Color in White as a base coat and then did a light spray of Temptu SB in White over the top with my airbrush.  I set it with MUFE White loose powder mixed with Temptu Mat White Pigment.  It looked great and the application was quite easy.
