I spoke with a photographer the other day, and he said that he felt if he wasn't at least slightly arroused during a nude shoot, there is a problem with the pictures if the pictures are supposed to be seductive. I trust that photographer enough to have a nude couples shoot with him. I wouldn't be offended if he got an erection during the nude photo shoot as long as he keeps his hands to himself.

really..........hummmmmmmmmmmm, I am a Guy with a Camera and a Computer and a Truck and a Car and a Motorcycle and House and a Wife and some Kids and shit even a Dog..........wow, I think if you get PAID then your a pro, if you don't get PAID then your not.

If you don't get excited by the model, find a new one!

This whole question is absurd. Let me make an analogy as example. Captain gets a medal for doing something really brave, but tells the colonel, "hey, I don't deserve this...  I was just as scared as the next guy." Colonel replies, "probably, but you didn't show it...  right?"

Do we really need to go any further with this?

What is the point of asking a question like this? Are you doing a study?

This topic has been argued in circles plenty long.  I think we've (the rational ones) reached an agreement that sometimes people do get aroused because it is only natural, and as long as they don't try to throw the model up against the wall and do something about it, then they are being acceptably professional in my opinion.  Hell, I've been turned on even by not-nude shoots.  That doesn't mean I'm busting out of my jeans though either.

I think a more interesting question at this point would be:

DO ANY MODELS GET TURNED ON DURING PHOTO SHOOTS?  WITH ALL THE ATTENTION AND CAMERA AND LIGHTS AND SEDUCTIVE POSES, DO MODELS EVER THINK ABOUT GOING AFTER PHOTOGRAPHERS?  WHAT IF THE DESIRE IS MUTUAL?  IS IT OK FOR BOTH PARTIES TO ACT ON IT THEN?  HOW DO YOU HANDLE THAT SITUATION?

I actually had this happen to me once.  No, I didn't end up sleeping with her either.  Did I want to? Yea sorta.

Thoughts?

If you ask this question, you are not a "Photographer" in my opinion....

During a shoot, I am too busy with lights, balances, poses and the work that goes along with making real images for "cheap thrills".

My thrills come when the shoot is done and I have great images on my screen or a perfect 11 X 14 print in my hands..

No, actually, the setting is not conducive to hard on's. It's like a nudist colony. Sounds like a sexy good time, but it's not.

you know chefs test a steak by sticking there fingers in them right? you can tell by the toughness if its rare, medium, well done.... when i was cooking i'd often lick my fingers after testing a steak and would say MMMMMMMmmmmm thats a tasty steak!!

and then wash my hands and contiune working, mind you i'd have to wash my hands after sticking my finger in the steak anyways so why waste that tasty steak flavor?

long story short, chefs and photographers telling there "subjects" that they want them are VERY different circiumstances and is like comparing apples to stereo speakers.

If you are photographing something you have no feeling for (erection or not) - then you might as well be in an office cubicle somewhere typing up your boss' correspondence.

The OP's tone is self-righteous and hypocritical.

I would like it if male photographers wore skirts. or Clown make up...to shoots. ;p has one done that yet? Sadly no..

I model nude, clothed, and painted. I agree with some posters that clothed shoots are sexier. They are more of a tease.

Lots of folks find the paint shots sexy but they are most taxing as far as prep time...therefore less sensual for me.

I've got an idea, all togs should do shoots in the nude. You never know, you might get laid and fuck up the shoot and the model might say "we shagged so does that mean i have to pay you instead?"

Well jumping in and skipping over most of the replies.

The Answer is easily yes I get aroused, I'm a male, I love women. The problem has nothing to do with getting a little wood the problem models have is how the photographer acts and if he continues to act in a professional manner then there is no problem. If acts like a caveman (sorry cavemen lol hope you don't get offended like the  on the geico commercials) bonks her on the head and does his business then he deserves what he has coming, a bad rep and maybe legal problems who knows.

I wish I knew how to airbrush, I know it's a lot of paint time and not really sexy but they make great looking photos if done right.

I don't think the problem is with becoming aroused, I think it's all about how you conduct yourself.  It is very possible to be aroused and not to lead into the fact you are.  I think the issue would be if a photographer became aroused and started dropping comments and inappropriate hints.  I mean people have become aroused just having dinner with a friend because they said or did something very attractive.  Becoming aroused doesn't make the photog/model dirty or a porn star in any way it is all about how you conduct yourself when it happens.  People are aroused how often by random situations that at that time are appealling...isn't the whole point of being a model to be captivating and sultry??

Agreed, as long as you can get your mind focused (pun intended) on the photography and not the Model. If the Photographer can think straight and conduct his business or maybe the arousal can stimulate his creative instincts.
