I have a client who needs comps card done for her kids. I've never put one together, so what are your suggestions? I know it's generally a headshot, and body shot - lifestyle looks (these kids are like 8 and 10, boy and girl).

So my questions - what size is standard? What are the type (text) requirements? Glossy or no? Any samples you can link me to?

I print with WHCC or Overnightprints.com... so I'd order through there. Do I look for Postcard type files?

Ok, so I'm seeing some that are one-sided, and others that show 2-sided.

They're usually 2-sided, right?

you can do them either way.

alot depends on the use. some agencies make you do them a certian way. (if they are represented you might want to check with them. if not it is a free for all.

what type of work are they looking for ??

Childish, (younger) current age, or pre-teen.  What you want them to get is how you want to aim the cards.

Yes. The ones illustrated on Zed Card Printers are front/back side-by-side.

I honestly don't know. I know they've had a couple call-backs to some production companies, but I don't believe they're represented by anyone. If they were, I think their mom would have had to use a specific photographer through their agency? Right?

One of the best quality printers for comps in Florida, used by all the big agencies in Miami, and Orlando. I would suggest getting an agent and let them pick the pictures they want on the card, since they are the ones that will be representing the talent. Usually they put their logo on the comp as well. If you must go at it alone, then pick 4 different marketable looks, and a headshot. Hope this helps.
Heres the back, make sure to put their stats somewhere in there!

You are right on about the three most common used pic..  8 1/2 x 11.   80# or heavier.  Printed   head shot on one side and  other two on back..   Name and very basic info..

I have no idea why these things just pop up out of the blue like they do.

This one is five and a half years old and dude is still getting help.

Seriously, take notice with any future dead threads that pop up and you will see that they pop up by someone who had been on MM for more than 3 years and has less than 10 posts and a profile/portfolio that is not at all very active.

Things that make you go, hmmmmmm.... hmm
