Since Halloween is coming up I want to experiment with body painting. If there is a special kind of paint I need? What it's called and where to get it? Are there any major stores that carry it?

Thanks,

Kyle

There are a lot of different products, but a lot of what is done is either with liquid latex or the other are latex based body paints.  Don't let the word "latex" in both suggest they are similar.

"Liquid Latex" which is a great material but it is a form of liquid rubber.  You paint it on and it literally becomes a second skin.  However, if you have any hair on your body when you apply it, you can expect one of the most painful "wax jobs" of your life when you try to pull it off.

Latex body paint is just water based body make-up as latex house paint is water based wall paint.  It is just paint and goes on like paint and may or may not come off easily depending on the color and brand (and some is not latex but uses another solvent). But it will not rip off your body hair when it comes off (i.e. if you are going to use liquid latex, shave first)

Anyhow, I will leave it to others to tell you about painting.  I just thought I would give you that tip.

Any costume shop or theatrical make-up house will stock them both.

Good luck to you!

This is silly, but I've always wondered, who does the painting?

I've airbrushed folks with Createx and Aquaflow, both worked well.
You can get Createx from www.BearAir.com or www.jerrysartarama.com or most any other art supply.

Have Fun,
Wm.
