I was wondering if their were other cosplay models here at Model Mayhem. I met a few already. But please all cosplayers are welcome!! I want to meet you all!!! ^-^
Yeah, cosplay is really great for photography. If you would like to photograhp a cosplayer some time, I can recommand you to go to a Anime Convention. There you will find many cosplayers who would love to be model for you.

Yeah, you'll find the whole gamut at cons. From smokin' hot models with amazing costumes, to 400 lb hairy biker dudes in Sailor Moon outfits. Take your pick. . .
I'm a cosplaying photographer! I do model shoots _and_ I cosplay! I've dressed up as various video game and anime characters... it's fun! At a con, sometimes I can't decide if I want to dress up and forsake the chance to take photos. At least I'm lucky enough to do private photo shoots with some friends who have fabulous costumes.
I've dressed up as:
Kenshin (Movie and TV series versions)
Laguna (FF8)
Kanti (FLCL)
Zero (Megaman Zero)
Vivi (FF9 and Kingdom Hearts)
Celestine (Ah! Megami-sama Movie)
Hotohori (Fushigi Yuugi)
Edward Elric (Full Metal Alchemist)
Unfortunately, some of those were before I started taking photos so I really only have pics of me as Zero and Vivi... the rest are lost in internet limbo, out on the web somewhere.
It's short for Costume player, most associated with japanese anime it refers to a person who dresses in a costume depicting a character, profession, etc.
Cosplay rocks my socks ^_^
It's way more fun to model then a lot of 'conventional' stuff to, 'cause if you really get into character you can get some amazing shots!
There's a fantastic Final Fantasy X Lulu costume on eBay at the moment ^.^
It's not a specific character, but I did the "Anime Schoogirl" thing one weekend. The photos aren't exactly traditional professional style, but I absolutely love them. Basically, the photographer followed me around with his camera as I bounced about the mall, the school, the coffee shop etc. There were only a few actually posed shots. It was a blast. I can't seem to find another photographer who shoots like this, and the poor lighting/focus that results is why, but I absolutely love these photos, and wouldn't change a thing about them.
i'm definetely into cosplay. i really want to do a cosplay shoot. I want to cosplay as Lulu from FFX, and as Faye from Cowboy Bebop. I'll get around to getting costumes together for each of them one on these days... n.n
I'm guilty of having a thing for costumes. I love the dynamics a costume and dramatic make-up can add to photographs. I guess there's a little girl trapped in me who just loves to dress up. I love shoots with a theme and some of the ones I did in costume are the ones that stand out most in my mind, were the most fun, and had some of the most interesting images. I can't sew though. I'd love to team up with a seamstress and show her some of my sketches I drew for costumes when I was 16 and dreaming big. hehehe.
OHH! I adore cosplay! I wish I had more time to put into the kind of costumes I would like to make. So far I've only done two. My first was Reika from Cosplay Complex (love the irony ^_^) at Oni-con '04 where I won judge's choice, and the second was Sexy no Jutsu from Naruto at A-kon '05. Such fun!
I would LOVE to do a cosplay shoot one of these days. If anyone near Houston wants to set one up, think of me!
I love the idea of cosplay photography. I really want to get into that. I'm going away this weekend, but when I come back I'm going to shoot with someone and hopefully do some "Bloodrayne" pictures.
I am a costume photographer and also a cosplayer. Costumes are my favorite photography subject. Hopefully I will meet even more cosplayers at future conventions.
Rumors can definatly be a bad thing. I am a cosplay model. I love to cosplay mainly because it gives myself a creative outlet, not to mention it is such a fun hobby.
I've met several creepy/scary GWC at cons - so that could be a factor as it can make women leery of shooting outside of cons if you don't know the photographer or not be able to get references on a person. A site like this would be beneficial for cosplayers to visit, as they can see a persons work beforehand and maybe see some feedback in tags or in person worked with list.
