I'm working on a Portable rig for taking eq on location. Anyone have any cool ideas they have built or seen for packing gear and rolling into a location to do a shoot?

I searched the forum with no luck but one time I did see a post with some home built carts for hauling gear.

I have vagabonds strobes etc. and looking for some cool ideas for building a solution to this.

Yeah, my suv works to get to location as well. Then after getting on location and need to hike a bit to shooting area it really gets old making trips back to the truck to get gear.

I have an EMS external frame backpack that I use.  I can carry a VII, two strobe setups with stands and a couple different mods, and a few other things.  As long as it's balanced, the worst part about it is putting it on.  I then carry my camera bag in my hand.

External frame is better since it's easier to lash things onto the bars, like light stands and large reflectors.

I need to have you come to Az and give it a go. Moutains, 110 heat, etc.

I do back pack but it really gets old packing two vagabonds, heads, tripod, stands, cameras, lenses, etc.

It was a golf cart, I searched on ebay and found some for around $20.

I am building two actually.  This is the big one.
It is 7' long and I can actually move it around by hand if need be and only weighs about 400 lbs. Environmentally sealed against weather.

The small one is in the works. It will have a pure cine wave invertor, batteries, high security locks and some other trick capabilities and can be towed with a vw passat or whatever.

No problem!  I'll take the desert dry heat over the pea soup for air that I have to trudge through in the summer!  Try climbing up one of those mountains in 90 deg heat with 95% humidity.  I don't know which is heavier sometimes, my pack, or my sweat waterlogged clothes...

Of course, if I'm packing it into a location, the furthest I've gone in is about a mile and half.  Any further and I'm looking for a way to get my Jeep in.
