Last week for the first time I took nude photographs. The shoot was supposed to be implied but the photographer kept telling me he had to have body shots for his port since he had none and that my identity and face would remain anonymous. We took many artistic and commercial shots in black and white with white sheets. We did several poses and when I got my pictures back there were many were u could see everything genitals and all WITH my face exposed. I know at the time I let him take the photographs but NEVER did I intend on taking full nude pictures, probably my whole career. I plan on going into acting and if I ever make a name for myself I don't want these pictures to come back after me. I regret taking any full nudes. The other ones were cool now I'm uncomfortable and uneasy that there are nude pictures of me out there. What can I do? Yeah yeah I know I agreed at the time but I regret it now and I don't feel right. Is there anything I can do to protect my privacy?

Just tell the photog what you have posted here, I would never want to offend a model with publishing photos like this they did not want. See if he can edit them, hopefully this works out.

I understand your frustation for the future, my advise will be to buy out the photographer by asking him to give you back the release form you've probably sign get the images back from him if you can and pay for the photo session so that way he will have no legal rights over your images, and they will not be able to sell them, publish or disperse them in a legal way. ( my personal opinion)
If he is a good professional photographer he will agree.

Maybe you could buy him out?  Let him sign an agreement that for a certain amount of money he won't use them in public. I don't know if that is possible in your case but I heard that some people do that smile

And if you can't, why not just be proud of them. You look pretty and if they are meant to be artistic and they look that way... Well than I wouldn't worry about it smile

Do u think its too late to get a release signed, that maybe the photographs can never be sold to any third parties or something like that?

You are upset because you are going into acting and don't want those photos to surface later.

I'm curious then, what if these photos surfaced? They include nudity or implied nudity.

in this case you don't want to sign a release.

A release allows a photographer to release images for profit.

He shouldn't have pressed you into it, but that is neither here or now.

Sadly, there is no written word from him that says he won't use your face in those photos. If all else fails you can at least request that he crop out your face and not credit you if he so chooses to put them in his port. But because all you have is his verbal word, nothing written other than the model released, then he has the right to do what he wants with your photos.

My best advice is to message him (or call him) and explain your situation in the most polite and respectful way possible. If he isn't willing to not use the photos, find some sort of compromise you can both agree to.

If you have NOT signed a release, DON'T. Without a release from you he cannot legally sell the images elswhere.

i hate surprises and feel no qualms about stopping a shoot that does not fit the original agreement.

talk to the photographer. explain your situation. he promised not to shoot your face, but he did-- which is pretty shitty in my book. be nice and professional, but get your point across while standing your ground. without a release signed, then he cannot use the shots commercially but he can in his port.

Just explain to the photographer that you're not comfortable with the pictures.

And next time, stand your ground.

I'm not positive as to the legal for your state, but what I would do is tell him(?her?) that you felt you were mislead as to the composition of the pictures and you would like the most objectionable destroyed or at least to have the originals and any copies cropped so that you're not recognizable.

If the photog wont do that for you after you were mislead, they're a slimeball (or incompetent, you don't "accidentally" expose more that you were trying to shoot if you're even halfway decent behind the lens). And if that's the case, you should get the word out on here and wherever you can warning about them, then I think you would have legal recourse as you were lied to about the content and composition of the pictures from the beginning.

Good luck.

Talk to him, let him know how you feel and be willing to buy the rights to the images if necessary.

I wasn't going to go there...but glad you did.

Guess the OP is OK with someone else's ass and tits in the photo. Nah, that won't come back to haunt her, just her art nudes....huh? hmm

Nice won't help her. I am hoping that pointing out that her portfolio already contains images that some people will consider much more scandalous than just nudity will help her to get a better perspective on the situation.

The best you can do is give this photographer a call and discuss your shoot. If they are reasonable, they will be willing to not post the photos as some part of a deal. Buying out the rights to the photos may be the best way to ensure they do not surface.

True. Artistic nudes would probably bite her in the ass less than that photo will.

The first one is someone elses breast just my tongue nothing I'd ever be ashamed of because it is artistic. The second one you can barely see anything.

Not really sure that you have a problem. Have you spoken with the photographer? Maybe he intends on cropping them.

Anyone who will judge you for the images you say you regret, will most certainly judge you the same way for those images.  That is her point.

You can call it "artistic".  Plenty of people won't agree.

Anyway.  You've been given sound advice for handling your current situation.
Good luck with that and I hope you learned something from this.

If you didn't sign a release, don't!

There are, in most states of the U.S., significant limits on what he can do with them without a release.  Just a caveat -- that does not always apply in other countries.

Have you talked to the photog?  I've often agreed to keep face/name anonymous, and to avoid showing too much in anything I would publish, display or post.  I always honor that even though many of the raw images show face, or unwanted details.  That all gets fixed in post-processing, and the other pictures never see the light of day.  It's generally a long, long way between the images that come out of the camera and those that actually go out the door.

All through 80's and 90's I was a school teacher
I shot published and exhibited nudes .. and so on the shoots I used to pull ugly faces
to be SURE they'd crop my face out

As Melissa has just said, while you may not be ashamed of it, the very same people that would judge you for the nude photos you are afraid of in your original post are the same people that will judge you for honey/nipple/tongue extravangzas.

Just think about this concern for all of your photos, not just the ones you are referring to in your original post.

This is true and perhaps I took it wrong but you add the word Americans it singles us out. Why not just say prudes. Why attack a certain nationality as though that is the way "They" are.

Discuss it with the photographer and see what his cost would be to by the copyright and full usage rights to all the images. Be nice, not combative to increase the likelihood of success.

I am not sure that I understand the acting issue. Lots of actresses have done not only still shoots, but movies where they were nude and they are superstars. Are you aiming for Disney like children's movies?

Obviously I am not concerned with the photos already posted in my port if I was they wouldn't be there. I don't care if people thought badly of those in the future. My issue is pictures of my full body with my face and my frontal privates exposed COMPLETELY when I was told my face wouldn't be in them.

Because the OP is in America (U.S.). Prudes in France are probably different from prudes in the U.S.
