Good makeup artist name...
I'm playing around with names for my business. I wasnt something that says Vanity and Glam but is very spunky and edgy that people will think is cute and remember... any cute ideas?? Dec 13 08 08:13 pm Link Glamourpuss Dec 13 08 08:14 pm Link Or just choose a gemstone, Diamond, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Pearl Dec 13 08 08:16 pm Link Glamity? Dec 13 08 08:17 pm Link I like the glamourpuss. lol. I forgot to mention it's a makeup business. but you prob guess that Dec 13 08 08:18 pm Link Vain about Glamour Dec 13 08 08:18 pm Link Or Miss Electra is cool too....Hmmm maybe Babydoll, Sweetness Dec 13 08 08:19 pm Link I remember when I was doing this.... Its really hard... I would like something and my husband would hate it.. He was against a "name" completely though.. he just wanted me to use my actual name.. but there are too many Stephanie MUA in my area.. Glamourpuss is kinda cute... I actually have a bottle of wine called that!! If Lacey Love is your name I would totally use that... its great Dec 13 08 08:21 pm Link Ohh I got it, even better,,,,,,,,Rainbow! Dec 13 08 08:21 pm Link Crayola?? Dec 13 08 08:22 pm Link I know it is hard! because you kinda have to stick with a name once you choose it. keep spitting out suggestions guys, i'll get inspired.. Dec 13 08 08:23 pm Link Thanks too, ya'll rock! Dec 13 08 08:24 pm Link well love isn't my last name. wish it was. but i cant really use that if people write me checks Dec 13 08 08:24 pm Link Glamour Jessica wrote: MUA name, not stripper name! LOL! Dec 13 08 08:25 pm Link Lacey Love wrote: If its your legal business they can... If its "Lacey Loves's Artistry" they can write that whether its your name or not.. Dec 13 08 08:27 pm Link Rachel Lisa wrote: Glad someone said it!!! Dec 13 08 08:27 pm Link Lacey Love wrote: clients will take you more seriously if you just use your name. I know it's not as fun but a photographer is going to have a hard time selling a cute name to a big client, the client wants to hire someone with a real name it just sounds more professional... Look at the major artist agencies, none of the artists have cute business names, most go by their real name Dec 13 08 08:31 pm Link hahaha gahhh i think i'll go with bunny. lol! yeah i guess i can use love then. you think thats catchy enough?? Dec 13 08 08:32 pm Link I'm totally all about Lacey Love. Make it legit and your golden. I'd totally remember Lacey Love. Dec 13 08 08:36 pm Link I went thru the same thing... tossing ideas back and forth, couldn't figure out one that i really loved. But i'm happy with what i came up with I really didn't want to just use my name... Tiffany, for me it was just too boring. I wanted something cute, but not too cutesy like "butterflies, rainbows, and glitter, oh my!" but something with a little bit of edge too... something catchy. It's definitely a process. Good luck to you! Edit: And if i were you, i'd totally go with Lacey Love Dec 13 08 08:37 pm Link Mary wrote: I advise you to listen to Mary. Dec 13 08 08:53 pm Link Glitter b!tch. No really.... your own name like Mary said Dec 13 08 08:57 pm Link Mary wrote: QFT Dec 13 08 08:58 pm Link I get compliments on my name all the time and I made it a real business with the license and all. Its not too cutsey that people dont think its professional. Sometimes I say Just Kiss 'N Makeup by Jaimie Martin. I go by my Given name, but people know my business by Just Kiss 'N Makeup. And also get paid with either name and I get business. If you want to have a fun name, you can. But if you like Glamour, I really like Glamourpuss. Dec 13 08 08:58 pm Link And lots of the big name MUAs in the industry don't use their real given names. They use something distinctive. Even the larger companies have interesting names. I see their point on using your name being professional. But in this industry we have the leeway to be creative. Dec 13 08 09:00 pm Link Mary wrote: yep. Dec 13 08 09:00 pm Link I'd just stick with your name. God knows people wouldn't call on me if I was called "Ugly Stick". Though if I ever own a business, I may just call it that. Dec 13 08 09:04 pm Link Glamour Jessica wrote: seriously? Dec 13 08 09:13 pm Link Lovely Lacey Makeup Glamorous Creations Touch of Glam! Magic Touch Makeup Creative Concepts (prolly already taken) A Touch of Class Makeup Designs Studio Concepts, Makup designs Très Beau Glamour Just a few. Hope you like one. Dec 13 08 09:19 pm Link ITA with Mary...although I do happen to have a kinda cool name by birth. But a LOT of people assume it's my middle name or a fake name...but Lisa is really my last name. But yeah, I can't imagine hiring someone named "Glitter Kitty" or some silly stuff like that. I would laugh when I said it. Dec 13 08 09:20 pm Link Yeah when I first joined this site I actually used a cutesy name but I switched and now I just go by my full name. I used my full name when I was acting too and I think it has a nice ring to it so I guess good on my mom for that one lol. The only thing I don't like is when ppl send me msgs thinking my name is Jessica Jean...it's not hypenated that's my first and middle name...just Jessica is fine lol. Edit: I also think of myself as my own brand therefore if I ever do attain any sort of recognition for my work I want ppl to know it's me and not some cutesy name. Dec 13 08 09:21 pm Link Dec 13 08 09:23 pm Link Sian Melton wrote: Yeah I like how you put the Sian sounds like Barn or Yarn..that actually helped me a lot b/c before we met I was always thinking it was some retarded pronunciation like See-Ann or Sie-Ann...I had no idea! Dec 13 08 09:27 pm Link Mary wrote: Thank you. My faith is renewed. Gee, who am I going to recommend to my client for that major commercial project, Bunny Love's Shady Faces or the artists real name? Dec 13 08 09:28 pm Link I think there is a difference between ridiculously cute names like, Glitter Kitty lol, as someone said and an interesting and catchy name for a business. Dec 13 08 09:28 pm Link I LOVE your name, Sian. I always have loved the look and sound of it though some people pronounce it differently. How do you pronounce yours? edit: My comp was lagging, just got your earlier message about pronounciation lol Dec 13 08 09:29 pm Link Dec 13 08 09:30 pm Link Hmm...how did I just quote Sian and Jessica at the same time? Weird post! Dec 13 08 09:30 pm Link |
