I am wondering how to give my long hair that big messy look.

You could do loose curls with a hot iron then brush your fingers through to separate the curls.

Wow! Way to bump the world's oldest thread!smile

Start with hair that isn't freshly washed, it will be easier to get lots of volume. Put a good strong mousse in your hair and set it on hot rollers. Give em some hair spray while they cool. Wait for them to get completely cold, then take em out. Run your fingers through the curls loosely just enough to break them up a bit. Using tiny section of hair, working from the back forward, spray some dry shampoo on the roots, then holding the section taut and away from your head, slide a teasing brush down towards the head from 4-6 inches up the hair section. Give it a good 4 or so slides, then hair spray it. Do this all over your head, then use the same brush to lightly smooth the outer layer all over. Bad ass Barbarella.

I can't attest personally but MUFE Face & Body apparently is a godsend if you don't want to piss off a wardrobe stylist.

Hi all,
I'm new here but currently designing/creating costumes for a theatre company. One of our leads needs to go blonde from a dark brown (see picture) and supposedly has olive undertones to her skin? To be honest, I'm 100% clueless about these things - I'm just the costume designer who got stuck with this since we have no official hair department.

So here's the question: what shade of blonde would look best given her skin tone? Anything is fair game, she's just supposed to look feminine and pretty (not that she isn't currently, but needs to be almost overwhelmingly so).

Thanks!

Do any of you have experience with using eyelash extensions?

I found a great upscale salon in town that has someone that does these. It's going to cost me about 300 dollar with "fill ins" at 40 dollars. They "say" they last about 6 weeks so I'd need my fills every month a a half after the initial 300 dollar set is applied....I'm just wondering if it's worth the investment - because I can NOT apply fake lashes and I LOVE loooooooooooooooong lashes. Mine are naturally long but I like dramatically long lashes.

I got mine done and they were a terror! I loved the length, but the upkeep was every month or less, it does cost that much money or more, and I couldn't get my face wet in the shower or it would burn.
