We have made compilation threads to find them all for basic areas of the US and starting to do so for other areas.
If you have a studio to rent, post an individual thread in the Market area of the forums.
Studio threads belong in the market section of MM.
The threads listed below are a way to list many studios together.
But you can also post here so that MM can have an easy to find resource of
Rental studios available.
If you know of good rental studios.
Post to these threads also.
I will get to making resource threads for England and Canada.
But I am not all that familiar with those areas so if someone could help me that would be great.
theda wrote: Suit/Dress: Women's sizes are insane and vary greatly. There is no stanardized sizing. Men's suits are sized by chest circumferance (example 40) and sleeve length (short, regular or long). I don't know the numbers for dertmining that bit, though.
Shirt/Blouse: For men, it's by neck size. For women, it's anybody's guess.
Neck: Measure around your neck.
Sleeve: See above with the I dunno
Pants: For menswear (and some women's pants), it's inches around waist and legnth of inseam (crotch to floor).
Inseam: Crotch to floor. Inches.
Bust: This one is fun. For bust size, measure around the fullest part of the bust. To determine bra size, measure directly below the breast and add 5 inches for the band size. Cup size is determined by subtracting the underbust measurement from the measurement around the fullest part of the bust OR measuring under the armpits and sutracting the number from the fullest part of the bust measurement.
Waist: smallest point of the torso
Hips: widest point around the tush
Hat: I know you measure the circumference of the head and divide by something freaky, but I forget the formula.
You left out shoe size and glove size.
Additional info on measuring men
David Pankhurst Photo wrote: Chest is same as bust for women...under armpits at fullest part of chest but add two fingers under tape for 'ease' of fit.
Leg inseam is crotch to 1/2" above floor...pants usually measured at out seam as waist to top of heel block on shoe...also about 1/2" above ground.
Sleeve length: Middle of back at base of neck across shoulder and down arm around elbow to wrist ... good shirts actually have a sleeve length in inches ... not small, med and large ... usuall shortest unless custom made is 32" which I get and have a tailor take off 1" by raising the cuff.
I am going to make a list of thread based around ethical question in the industry.
Will post some here and then combine later when I have it organized better.
Many of these threads may be listed on other lists but there seems to be a need or desire for a place to find conversations of ethics.
The higher the number of the thread the more recent the thread.
This is good to know when checking the individual lists.
But a later thread does not necessarily mean the information is more correct.
So a thread numbered 1985 would be very old from the beginning of MM.
A thread numbered 63400 would be rather recent.
I make no claims to any information in these lists even the advice given by myself.
I could be wrong as could any poster.
I am just the loony librarian pointing you to the information.
You must try to contemplate if the information is correct.
But do try to use the search function or these lists when possible.
There are many knowledgable members and reading more threads will teach you who does know something and who does not.
But everyone is wrong sometime.
Just some people more than others.

Here are some threads on the topic.
There is no TFP police, there may not be a TEST police but the term does have a standard meaning among agencies in big cities.
