Shot TwiggyBladez a couple of weeks ago. During a 2 hour rainstorm that didn't start 'til we got to the site, and didn't stop until 5 minutes after we'd left.

It seems to be run by Rolando Gomez. Once I mad a profile and joined the group, it asks how you plan to pay.

I should have provided a better link.
There are SEVERAL different photography meetup groups at meetup.com
Here's a better link:
http://www.meetup.com/search/?keywords= … ton=Search

------------------------------------------------------------------------
These two groups don't charge membership fees and hold  meetings and events normally at no charge.

*** The Las Vegas Photography Group*** and The Las Vegas Photographic Society merged a few months ago and are now the same group.  There are over 200 members.  The last time I checked there was no charge but a small donation is appropriate if you attend the meetings.

*** The Southern Nevada Photographers Meetup Group*** is a smaller, less formal group (not that there's really anything formal about the other group that I just mentioned).
------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following groups have either a membership fee and/or require a substantial fee for meetings and events:

The Las Vegas Photography Group is the Las Vegas area chapter of a nationwide group run by Jerry Avenaim and Rolando Gomez.  There is a monthly charge for that one in addition to a few hundred bucks per workshop.  Neither of the people that run the group actually live in the area, so I guess it's main purpose is to facilitate workshops whenever either of 'em are in town.

Vegas Vision Studio Photo Lighting Workshop is run by Bobby Deal.  Both he and the studio are MM members.  While they also have workshops featuring Jerry and/or Rolando, VVS also puts on some smaller workshops and seminars at a much more affordable price (usually $75).

The Las Vegas Art Models Group is a group of photographers, artists, and figure models that pose in a group setting.  There is a charge for those group events.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

I currently have limited knowledge about these meetup groups.  I don't know how much they charge, if anything.

Studio 3775 / Las vegas is a new meetup, but his rental studios have been a round for a few years. I haven't checked that meetup group yet, but I've been to the rental studio before.

Themed Photography at Cheesy Photos is really nothing more than an ad for a studio in Logandale, about an hour away from Las Vegas.

The other listed groups are not directly involved with photography.

295, I'm the VP of it. smile

Our monthly meetings are free, membership is free, the normal turn out at the meetings are around 75 photographers.

Some workshops have fee's, others are free.

I'm going to start my own photography group. It's going to called G&GWCTLTPOPT (Guys and Gals with Cameras that like taking pictures of pretty things). We are going to meet up at McDonald's and talk shop over some french fries and shakes. Totally free except for the french and shakes.

No? not funny? Sorry, I just got off work and now I'm letting loose.

see i think Harold your on to something, its nice to go some place and hang out and talk camera talk without being taxed a welcome to our club fee.  I understand workshops gotta make money... that i understad.... but taxing people to be part of the group/events on a regular basis is not my cup of tea.  For two membership fees of $28 we can get some General Chows Chicken, Salt & Pepper Spicey Pork Chops, Rice and leave a tip and talk over dinner and hell, even shoot the food as it arrives.

Just a reminder (tootin my own horn here)  when I did my Meet and Greets I never charged a cover, and hell at my Summerlin Meet and Greet I actually did a raffel ticket Give-a-Way as a way of saying thanks for support this venue.

Who? Me? Shoot @ a Dry Lake Bed? That's crazy talk. Yes, I did shoot at a Dry Lake Bed this morning and yes it was dry and hot and I'm all sweaty and dirty and thirsty.  It didn't rain out there and the cloud cover didn't come till we left. Matter of fact, when I got home and took out my camera to upload pictures it was still hot.

Here's a quickie for you. This is Alyx (Make-up not War MM # 1017638) She a model now. Make-up done by Leila (contact info can be found on Alyx'sMM)
https://farm4.static.flickr.com/3488/3736043279_1a009ba3f9.jpg
And yes I did shoot in midday sun. I know it's against the rules but I don't care. I crazy like that. Did this with 2 Flashes on a single lightstand (bare bulb) to over power the sun. One actually went out on me during the shoot (Drained batteries).

Also shot these in midday sun.

natural light but I was in the shade.

Hey everyone, thought I'd join in on the fun.  I'm new to the Vegas MM scene.  Several familiar faces here in the sense that I see the photographers' work on the pages of many models.

Is there regular meet and greets organized?

You're always welcome to come but I don't have a reflector. Always down for behind the scenes pics.

But I think that's the last time I'll be out there this summer. It's just stupid hot outside, it's retarded. Not unless you guys really want to go out there and shoot. If so, all I'm asking for is a nice COLD large beverage (you I can kill me some raspberry ice tea).

Wow that's a very sexy pic. Maybe you guys can do a maternity shoot together.

No regular meet and greets (except for a couple of us that just like to hangout) as of yet. But that's a great idea. Maybe meet once a month or something and see how's everyone doing.

Just a thought.
