Karl Yamashita and Drew Santos are at it again! By popular demand, we are holding another event in the desert about 35 minutes from Victorville area. There are abandoned houses and dry lake bed to shoot at. This is a workshop and group shoot all in one. Mark, also known as Bright Candle Photo will be assisting us.
⢠We're here to share our tips to beginning photographers.
⢠Ever wonder how Drew and I light our models without the background being blown out on a sunny day? Speed lights not cutting it huh? We will give you hands on experience in using affordable and portable mono lights and equipment. Try Before You Buy. ⢠You'll be so impressed with your images after the event that you'll be ready to order the same lighting equipment we use.
⢠We'll show you different light modifiers and their uses. Octobox, Octodome, beauty dish and grids will be covered. You'll also get to see the new High Output Beauty Dish (HOBD) in action.
⢠Circular Polarizer will be discussed and how it will improve your images when shooting outdoors or at the beach. I recommend Hoya brand.
⢠Once you attend our workshop, you'll be able to build up your port with beautiful models quickly.
⢠To make use of the workshop, Pocket Wizards are recommended. You can rent the PW's from Calumet or Samy's if needed. We'll talk about an affordable alternative to the Pocket Wizards, so don't necessarily go purchase a PW now.
⢠Students should have prior knowledge on how to adjust their camera to manual mode and adjust aperture, shutter speed and ISO.
⢠Students can take the remainder of day to shoot models.
⢠For photographers who don't care about the workshop, they can shoot the available models for the group shoot portion. (Please note that the workshop will be using Channel 1 and 2 on the PW. If you have other wireless triggers, please use those.)

Behind the scene of our recent desert shoot: She must be nude on the horse, lol.
One of our attendees getting arrested... nah, j/k. This is a very cool sheriff who has stopped by to see what was happening. I've met him before months ago. Him and his partner watched me and another photographer shoot for 30 minutes then they went on their way.

Time: 12pm to 4pm
Location: We'll be meeting at a rendevous point around Victorville at 10:30am and carpooling to actual shooting location. Meeting place and information will be emailed to you a couple of days before the event.

People, don't wait too long because this will sell out.

sorry I know the harley is not as much fun but I tried. So did you want us to bring Cody?
It would be nice if Cody was there. But if you can't bring him, then no big problem. We need more props... what would be good?
Chad is going to check and see if there are having a match at the show we're going to be at, not sure yet. It's not a complete no but will let you know as soon as we can. We love to bring Cody again

Actually if anyone would have been arrested it would have been the model. The nude model would have been cited and the photographer might have walked away with a slap on the wrist if anything. I could be wrong??#$?^%^??
