How do I swap my portfolio pictures without losing views and comments?  MM members have very kindly explained resizing and compressing files to maintain sharpness, colour, contrast, etc.  I have only been on here a short while and I have already learnt so much, this site is excellent!!  Thank you all.

Unfortunately that is not possible.
