There are people here who use block button like a weapon in their arsenal. I had one local photographer who I never message here send me a message out of the blue announcing she was blocking me.

Personally I don't get it.
I might know who
I suspect the block I'm referring to is because we don't agree on some things about transgender people. There is a whole little clique on here who all apparently hate me for my opinions. Sad and silly, but oh well.

I wouldn't worry about it to much.
I never message people from the forums that I disagree with so it doesn't really matter to me if someone blocks me. I try to keep forum matters in the forums.

Some take this place way too seriously.
Yeah, I'm amazed at how personally people take things here. I learned a long time ago there's no such thing as an enemy in the forums. Someone who disagrees with you in this thread may be your best friend in the next thread.

Now that is strange. Who goes out of their way to inform you that you're being blocked. What a weirdo.
I block people I dont know sometimes. Usually, it is because I see them several times in the forums being complete jerks (with regards to industry dealings) and I don't want to forget how much they suck...lest they ever seek to work with me.
A block simply means the individual doesn't want to interact with you outside the forums. Before making judgments about the maturity level of the individual that blocked you, you might look at your own behavior in the forums.

Blocking is the lamest, most immature way on the web to put your fingers in your ears and say Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah!!! My all-time, piss-myself-laughing line in the fora: "Well, now I can see what kind of person you are--BLOCKED!" The entirety of a person's life, encapsulated in Princess Fucktard's mind by one or two lines, and rejected out of hand...damn, it must be great to feel that important!

My forum behavior is exactly the way I want it to be. If you don't like it you are welcome to irrationally block me all you want. It doesn't mean I won't label you a weenie for doing so.
I've blocked less than a handfull of people since I've been here, and all of them I blocked because they were coming to my page and consistently saying inappropriate things.

Yeah dude thanks for the editorial comment. You know nothing about this situation, nothing at all.

So let me get this right. When you block someone you're doing it because... well it's just the right thing to do. When others block you however, they're being "weenies" and being "irrational".

Only if you are lame and immature. Otherwise, its just a way to prevent fucktards from leaving asinine tags on your profile and clogging your email with spam.

Okie Dokie... whatever spins your wheels... lol.
I didn't say "anyone" who blocks me is a weenie, I said anyone who blocks me because someday I "might" contact them even though I never have is a weenie.
Which of these two reasons sounds more usefull to you........
1. Blocking someone who sends you 20 messages in two days telling you you are an idiot.
2. Blocking someone who you disagree with in a forum thread even though that person has never contacted you and has given no indication they ever will?
Everyone is entitled to block for whatever reason they want......I'm just asking which of those two reasons is more usefull in general?
The only times I have blocked anyone is when they said inappropriate things or crossed "the line". My block list is 8 people long, and I have no plans of increasing it.
There are many possible motives to why someone would block another; if they were blocking you for immature purposes, I would take it as a good thing, as you are probably better off not interacting with this person.

You know folks do some pretty strange things on the internet. Couple that with the relative anonymous nature of the internet and you get what we see every day... not only here but in other places.
You have your reasons for blocking, others have there's but when you say something like this:
"My forum behavior is exactly the way I want it to be. If you don't like it you are welcome to irrationally block me all you want. It doesn't mean I won't label you a weenie for doing so. "
you weaken your argument.
Seems to me you're labeling anyone who thinks your forum behavior is inappropriate is characterized by the above quote. You must know that comes across as being pretty arrogant... and it would seem like you don't care.
If you did that in a face to face conversation in many situations there would be some pretty negative consequences. I think you know that.

+1. There are some people I'd rather not work with, or meet up with, because they've said some horrid thing I find offensive. There are disagreeable people who are in my life whether I like it or not- no need to put more there optionally.

Is that a veiled threat? I would like to give you the benefit of the doubt and think that it isn't.
And again, you are reading things into my statements that aren't there. I did not say anyone who disagrees with my forum behavior is a weenie.....they are certainly entitled to their opinion and they may even be right. I clearly said anyone who blocks someone because of that forum behavior even though there's been no contact and likely won't be is a weenie.

I for one hate your guts and plan on blocking you just as soon as I figure out how to get that weapon in my arsenal. Is that one of those hidden treasure type things, or speacial code like ^v>><^^v
aw ta hell with it Imma gonna go eat ice cream. Want some?

You simply can't be serious? Don't you have enough drama in your life then to try to create some where it wasn't intended?
Your quote wasn't taken out of context. It seemed pretty clear. Obviously you may have a different twist on it, and that's fine.
Apparently at least one other person had some questions about it also.
I not only didn't say someone who disagrees with me in the forums is a weenie......I even said this stating the exact opposite earlier in this thread......

Regardless, the block button is there for anyone who wants to use it. I'm simply saying that anyone who makes a judgement about someone else based on their forum behavior and then acts on it is fair game for being judged themselves.
It's a perfectly fair statement for me to say that if it's ok for you to judge me on my forum behavior that it's just as ok for me to judge you for your reaction to it.

Then may I suggest you go back and edit the part I quoted so its' meaning is more in line with what you appear to have meant?
