I am new to modeling, but very excited.  As in a crafts, I like to perfect my work, but do not know much about modeling schools.  Can anyone tell me of the best schools in Los Angeles that are not outrageously expensive?

Thank you

I could imagine nothing more of a waste than modeling school. Attend more shoots and save your money.

The best one is the one you don't go to.

The only people that need modeling schools are.... the owners of the modeling schools!  Seriously!  Waste of money, spend your money on a great photographer and hit the agencies instead.

Modeling schools are a ripoff. You are astonishing and should be talking to agencies looking for reputation as of years ago. Or at least yesterday. Most of the legit ones are clustered pretty close together; you could hit all the open calls in two days or so.

Here's some info on modeling schools that may be helpful, regarding why the previous posters said not to bother: http://www.newmodels.com/school.html

If you want one-on-one help posing, find a model in your area who's experienced in the field you are looking to get into, and ask her if you can hire her for a shoot or two as a posing coach.

+1

Either do TFP or pay the photographer and ask for tips.

Agreed with what people already said here.

Very important also, ask questions when you don't know something and listen. The newmodels site is great & has helped quite a few models I know. Finding a few friends in the biz helps too. All my photographer/model friends have been awesome at giving me info. smile
