I just take off my clothes and put'em out of the frame. No special way of doing it. No changing room needed. But a lookout for others walking through the area helps.
Over the years, I've found I prefer wearing something loose that leaves no lines to the location I'm shooting, so I'm ready to start posing right away.

Right on.
You get a pass for this thread, since you've modeled before. LOL

One piece jumpers FTW!
When shooting outside do you just drop it close to where you are shooting or do you wander around nude?

For street nudes, I throw it to the photographer and they throw it back if anyone's approaching. Being good at catch is needed Then, it's much easier to wear a dress.
If it's a more private location (like woods), I generally just wander around.

Yeah, I do the same. If there's chance someone will approach I keep it near, but when out in the middle of no where I LOVE wandering around nude.
Only shot partial nude once, and it was mostly private area but I would just have the photographer toss the clothes to me when he saw someone coming. But for taking it off.. I mean heck why need to go somewhere else? Just take it off!
I dont need a changing room to take off my clothes.
They are going to see me naked for a few hours anyways...
I just take off my clothes and get to work.
:/that sounded so wrong
I guess a lot of it is comfort with the photographer. Sometimes I just take my clothes off out in the open and get to work and other times I feel like that's a bit of a strip tease and feel more professional when I robe up off-set first and then come in.

Maybe I just love being naked so much I dont care who the photographer is I feel so free when Im naked.
I have modeled for decades in life drawing and painting sessions and art classes.
Many which are held in classrooms have a separate changing area, or direct models to use the bathroom. Others just have you undress in a corner of the room.
When working with small artists groups outdoors or indoors, it's usually just easier to undress and start posing rather than looking for a place.
I agree with the earlier mention of wearing something loose fitting on the way to the assignment. They don't want to see skin marks from elastic or waistbands of clothing. Sweats left untied work perfectly.

Yeah, that's what I advise new nude models of as well. For girls, a loose sundress is really good.

I could see that being a big issue. If they are kind of leering at you it would be uncomfortable.

Yes me too. I have a black stretch velvet long sleeved/legged jumper that leaves no lines and for the summer some go to summer dresses that leave no lines
The more experienced models that I've worked with seem to be in a hurry to get out of their clothes & run around nekked. The clothes usually end up heaped on the ground or on top of an open duffle bag. Then I have to chase after them with my camera & try to keep up.

In my photo studio there is a changing area with a curtain, but when I am working with a model for a nude shoot, I usually just ask her (or him) to get undressed, then I turn away and fiddle with the camera and lights while she disrobes. Hasn't been an issue. I'm sure it would be different if I stood and ogled, so I don't.
I always recommend that the model wear loose fitting clothing and no bra to the studio and bring a bathrobe to wear during breaks. Some models use the robe and some just hang around nude for the whole time. I don't make an issue either way.
I generally take the clothes off where-ever (usually right there) and they don't come back on for a while. If I'm outdoors, it depends on the location. Private, clothes stay off, less private, I'll keep it (the dress I wear) close.
Just an FYI- I'm not really looking for what people observe models doing at their studios. I more want opinions from models on what they choose to do and the reason why.....that's why I posted in the model forum and said the question was to models.

Thanks!!!
I keep my clothes near me if in a 'not so private' area. Just in case.
What's your preferred way to get undressed. Would you rather undress in the bathroom or car, put on a robe and then go to where you are shooting?
or
Do you just take your clothes off and get to work?
I have a preferred method and I was just looking for some MODELS opinions.
I just take my clothes off and get to work..... but on outdoor shoots, I always have a pair of board shorts in the vicinity just in case the cops pass by
I have no preference, it seems to me if the photographer directs me to a dressing area, he's inferring that he'd like me to use it, so I do.
I generally like to pee before we start shooting, so I'll ask where the bathroom is and then come out naked if that's what we're shooting. Unless it's cold in the location, and then I'll wear a robe.
I have no problem just getting right to it. I prefer not to waste time. I agree with the idea of wearing loose fitting clothes so there are no red marks or lines showing and we can begin shooting right away.
It depends on the situation... I always wear a robe when possible to avoid lines, and I'll change in front of people, but I won't just walk around nakey.
I think it's polite for the photographer to provide a robe for a nude shoot, especially paid. You're paying me to shoot me nude, not for me to wander round your house nude on breaks etc. I prefer a robe, but if he doesn't offer one, I just wander round nude. And I just de-clothe somewhere next to where we're shooting.
It depends. Usually my taste in clothing is very loose and leaves little to no lines anyhow.
So if I show up at a shoot I can easily strip down and be just fine. I have no issue standing around nude waiting for light testing. This tour I'm finishing I brought a robe (that I gave away a week ago) and changed into it at the door at each shoot. It made no difference in me or lines.
If we're going somewhere - especially on location, a slip dress is in order to put on beforehand. Makes life simpler.
Meh.

Bring your own robe... if someone else supplies one, there are a lot other bums and other parts that have been on that thing.
When I'm prepping for an on-location shoot, I don one of my polar fleece dresses w/ no undies or bra and throw those things in my bag for after. The specific dresses that I wear are very easy to remove and put on (and leave no lines), so, for me, they function as a "robe," but in a more inconspicuous kind of way. I generally put my dress back on while wandering around between location, but that's more of a necessity thing -- I don't think I've ever shot somewhere so out-of-the-way that I didn't have to worry about the possibility of getting "caught" or offending someone.
