Has anybody ever ordered off the secret menu from In-N-Out ??

the 4X4 ?

http://www.in-n-out.com/secretmenu.asp

The Hidden In-N-Out Burger (aka In and Out Burger) - The Most Accurate
Secret Menu

In-N-Out Burger has a secret unpublished menu for insiders who are
In-The-Know. Next time you're at In-N-Out (i.e. tomorrow . . . or maybe
tonight), order a bag of these off-the-menu specials:

"3-by-3" = three meat patties and three slices of cheese.

"4-by-4" = four meat patties and four slices of cheese.

"2-by-4" = two meat patties and four slices of cheese.
You know how much I LOVE In-n-Out burgers, so here's their secret menu that
those in the know use in addition to the regular menu.

*Note: You can get a burger with as many meat patties or cheese slices as
you want. Just tell the In-N-Out Burger cashier how many meat patties and
how much cheese you want and that is what you'll get! For instance, if you
want 6 pieces of meat and 10 pieces of cheese tell them you want a
"6-by-10."

"Double Meat" = like a Double Double without cheese.

"3 by Meat" = three meat patties and no cheese.

"Animal Style" = the meat is cooked and fried with mustard and then pickles
are added, extra spread and grilled onions are added.

"Animal Style Fries" = fries with cheese, spread, grilled onions and pickles
(if you ask for them).

"Protein Style" = for all you low-carbohydrate dieters, this is a burger
with no bun (wrapped in lettuce).

"Flying Dutchman" = two meat patties, two slices of melted cheese and
nothing else - not even a bun!

Fries "Well-Done" = extra crispy fries . . . even better than the regular!

Fries "Light" = opposite of fries well-done, more raw than most people like
'em

"Grilled Cheese" = no meat, just melted cheese, tomato, lettuce and spread
on a bun.

"Veggie Burger" = burger without the patty or cheese. Sometimes we call this
the "Wish Burger."

"Neapolitan" Shake = strawberry, vanilla and chocolate blended together.

The friendly employees of In-N-Out Burger will take your special order
without question, if you use the right terminology. The printed receipt will
have your special request typed on it just as we said it.

I first heard about their alt menu items when a budd of mine got a high school job there in the early 80's.  As much as I love In-N-Out, I try had not to go there more than four or five times a year.

All my buddies from out of state seem to want to eat there every freakin' dinner when they're in town.

Side note:  All In-N-Outs are owned by one family.
I'd KILL to have a franchise of these little gold mines in Albuquerque, NM across from UNM.  They're just barely getting out of CA.  They've got several in Vegas now, and a couple large ones on desert highways.  But, the rest of the world will have to wait.

They just featured IN-N-Out in an episode of C.S.I.  Los Angeles.

EVERYBODY knows animal style. I hardly ever order a burger there that's NOT animal style. Plenty know the 3x3 and the 4x4. The others.... some of those I've never heard of, those are more the "in the know" items.

I shall have to wait until Christmas before I have another, sadly, the next time I'll be back "home" in CA.

LOL.  I lived in Albuquerque for 8 years.  When I found out they didn't have any In-N-Outs there it felt as though part of my soul was ripped from my gut.  I couldn't imagine a land without them.  I guess I was pretty provincial back in the 80's.

Little hungry there, Image K?

Going through the drive-thru at In-N-Out is a lot different than the drive-thru at McD's, Burger King, or Wendys.

1. They all speak English
2. They all seem to have good communication skills (no mumbling)
3. They have ALWAYS got my order right
4. They say "hi" when I drive up to the window, and actually make eye-contact
5. When you ask for extra napkins or condiments, they don't look at you like you just asked them for their first-born child.
6. It gets cooked AFTER I order it. It's always fresh

It's because they don't freeze their meat and they only have one processing plant, so the distance the farthest In-n-Out can be from California is very limited.

It's amazing, isn't it? Even more amazingly, it's about the same price.

QFT!

I always get animal style with ketchup and mustard instead of special sauce. I've never been into mayo on my burger.

Sometimes, when I'm feeling very bad, I get animal style fries too smile

I've had protein style too, wrapped in lettuce. Surprisingly good, try it you might be surprised!

We should have an MM meet and greet at one of the larger In-N-Outs here in SoCal.

I'm in!  Anyone else?

There's a big one off the 60 freeway in Roland Heights, near the Puente Hills Mall.

We can get fry grease and sauce on our portfolios.

On a low-carb diet, my standard order at In-N-Out is "Double meat, no cheese, grilled onions, mustard instead of sauce, add pickle, protein style."

It's awesome.

I did this just recently.
Whataburger IMO is very similar(only they have whole wheat buns)but the burgers are bigger...
and there is no hidden menu, you can order all these options as well.....
Had 2 double meat with onions and ketchup only on wheat buns last night..

So, are we ready for the In-N-Out meet and greet yet?

I'll bet you'd show up for free Double Doubles.

Ketchup is something I rarely eat. It's mostly sugar, anyway.
