new avatar. happy & sad.

as basic & impromptu as a picture comes.

I mean, I've come to accept, by now, that I'm not ugly (thanks mom and dad).

but what the heck is it?

It's cute as an avatar. Quality in full view is rather low. Compositionally, I think the idea would work better if the two images were side-by-side rather than stacked vertically (but I know that vertical works better for avatar usage).

Try expanding on the concept

ETA: I like the fact that you're using the same hand and head positioning in both shots, so if you expand the concept into a full shoot I would try to keep that element, so you are emoting solely with your face. May or may not work, but it's worth a shot. (As it were.)

I guess to elaborate, most shoots I do are as an alternative model, with not a lot of clothes, cause of the tattoos... but I'm always surprised to get a lot of feedback on my face. I had my friend take some shots today at a photographer's suggestion. Is my head a more clickable avatar than the tattoos?

That is hard to tell, are there more tattoo crazed fans here or those looking up standard cute faces... who knows...change your avatar and count views...I do not know otherwise. You have a cute face...but your question is not that...

You have a beautiful everything.
But as for that specific avatar, if I were browsing your portfolio, I wouldn't bother clicking on that. It's low quality reminds me of a cell phone picture. And it is not very flattering at all.

And to be clear, if I was browsing models in your area, with your stats etc, and I saw that picture/avatar, I would skip your portfolio all together.

Use something that is top notch and eye catching, for your avatar, to draw in the viewer to your portfolio. (first impressions are important)

I think you have better images in your port than your avatar. It's not bad, but it's not your best.

Also, my OCD had me count the # of images where you are looking to your left (viewer's right) .. it's 13..

Maybe for poor OCD people you could vary that a bit .. LOL

I think you have far stronger stuff in your port that would work as an avi. For example, the implied with all the red drapery is truly striking.
