Some like lots of hair sme like none at all varying on your preference or what you want need for your vision. I've heard of ppl asking for some girls to grow it out
If you're an art nude model and you have "the look " they want it might come down to how it is down there.

I am unable to imagine anything I could care about less in terms of wanting or not wanting to work with a model. Perhaps for some concepts (historical, as in the Renaissance shoot mentioned earlier but then again google "merkin" for an historical context) call for a specific look as might a particular fetish but this strikes me as a sidebar to the endlessly pointless rant-filled threads about tattoos and other body modifications.

I got offered a lot of money to do a light erotic shoot, and I was sort of considering it, but then the photographer said that I would need to be completely shaved for it.  I refuse to shave down there, so I declined.  I'm a woman--I have pubic hair.  I also just think it looks better, too.

I have worked with one fine art photographer who prefers women who have a bush. Right now I'm sporting a 70's porn bush that needs a trim. I won't do a landing strip but I have shaved for shoots. I'm fickle about my pubic hair. If you as a photographer prefer a certain look, ask for it. Models might say no but really it's up to you what you shoot. You just need to decide if it's a deal breaker.

I agree, for art nudes, I prefer a bush. it is just more "timeless".

We aren't born with teeth either, but nice pearly whites do make for a nice photo. :-)
The same holds true on this subject, imho.

Another 'to shave or not to shave' thread...

I realize shaved makes a girl look very young and 'fresh', but I personally like a little bit of hair down there.

What I really don't like is razorburn though. Most of the shaved models I've worked with have bad skin going on down there and I have to spend a lot of time retouching that area.

It's amazing to me how threads on certain subjects have a long life.   This one started in '09.

I've only found two models around my area with a bush.  Both of them think it makes them worth $200 per hour.

I asked one model, who has shot with me several time, if she would consider growing a Bush.  She said "Can't, mine has been completely removed via electrolysis.".

I've shot a couple of girls who have a strip about an inch wide and three inches long.  I don't exactly call that a Bush.

I had one show up with such a bad case of Razor burn that I cancelled the shoot.

I got approched by a model the other day wanting to do a "70's art nude style". She has no hair now so she is in the process of growing it out now. My preference is a landing strip or a well maintained bush. I hate the "bald" look.

I've had it way more times than not, including by some of the best models you could imagine.

Models... Keep in mind shaving means your vulva will most likely be blown up on our screens and burned into our minds for all eternity while we fix that on every shot.

It depends on the job. If someone wants me to shave, I'll shave, but I've been keeping it au naturale lately.

A well-managed "landing strip" is like a pretty bow on a present.  I mean, what fun is a present without a "bow?"    Just sayin'.

OP asked 'MODELS If you are a neatly shaved woman, and a photographer wanted to shoot you with pubes, would you grow it out, or just not fit into that particular mold?'

I like it also. To the point of searching models out that have it. Like you, I'm not sure why, I've just always liked it.

It seems to me that everyone in this thread could be satisfied if Adobe would just make a Photoshop "Bush" plug in.

I had a photog turn me down for an assignment because the small bush that I do have is groomed. Her specifically stated that he wanted the natural un groomed look, so yes, there is such a demand.
As for me, I keep it groomed and trimmed but not completely removed.

Love the bush!

Women with no pubes look like kids, not my idea of a woman at all.

i have pubes, i have shaved them for shoots, sometimes i have shaved them and the shoot did not happen, then i was annoyed and started to dream of a day when i could charge a "pubes fee"

i mean if im going to "de-forest the oregon trail" you'd damn well better show up to take photos big_smile

For me, its a matter of shaving is painful, I have extremely sensitive skin and when i shave within hours its painful and itchy.
But since I charge to shoot, I leave it to the photographer, if he wants shaved, and hes paying, i shave.

i do get plenty of offers, even with all my "hair" and its not all that hairy

which is to say, i keep neat and "tidy" and its' not a "true bush" i don't think it looks like a playboy from the 70's

its nice and neat and well groomed and not "overgrown"

just like actors shave, put on weight, starve, whatever for "roles" i keep and shave my hairs when i am paid to do so

Does that also mean you like women with leg hair and armpit hair? After all hair is usually a sign of one going/gone through puberty, or just hormones.

Hair does not make anyone less than or more of adult. I started growing hair in my tweens. I would not have considered myself an adult then.

Ugh.

I've been shaved for most of the past 5 years I've been a model.

I don't shoot porn or glamour...

Every time I try to grow it out I get annoyed at the 'in-between' stage. It's awkward.

Beauty in the eye of the beholder. Some photographers prefer fully shaved, others like it "full grown". Same thing goes with models.

If I were a nude model and a photographer demanded such a thing I would literally tell him to "bite me" and get lost. LOL.
