This would imply that doing porn is less than respectable. If it's legal and legitimate work then it's respectable.

Personally I've been surprised by some friends when I found out they did porn but this was because their personality and the way they presented themselves lead me to believe that that type of work was not in their interest field... I've also been surprised to find out some whom I would have expected to feel comfortable doing porn have absolutely no desire to do so. It just goes to show you that you don't really know a person unless you take the time to truly listen and understand.

I know alot of models have done it, but I was very surprised in this case because the 2 are so well known and respected that it  just amazed me that they went into that direction. I was just curious if anyone else had a similar experience?

I took out the word "shocked", because I think too many people misunderstood what i meant. As well as i removed the term "strayed" It was a bad choice of words.

Let me also clear up something else. I have no problem with anyone who does porno. I've worked as a bouncer at a NYC strip club in the past and have more than my share of dealing with people in the porno industry.

The original point wasn't to judge anyone at all. I was more curious as to find out if anyone else had an experience where a model that is well known in the industry and respected had ever done any porno work. I wasn't trying to judge anyone or say I was offended at all. I'm not going to now or ever say anyone is wrong for doing whatever it is that a person does. That is thier choice, live and let live. Also literally nothing offends me at all.

What "shocks" me is not that they do it, but *who* has done it wink

And, I wonder seriously if they will regret it. sad

You do the work you get your payment.
Personally, as  long as it's legal who cares?
Sanitation folk, medical folk, deal with  much nastier stuff  for  less pay, and who  judges them?

not all women who choose to do porn do so because its something they really want to do, i know several MM models who did it because they werent making enough money modeling, and felt it was their 'only' option to help pay their bills (argueing with them that there were other options to pay their bills were futile, simply because i fear it actually involved doing 'work' at regular hours)

no it didnt make any sense to me either

they regret what they did, they didnt enjoy it, they didnt get paid enough, and are still fearful that future BFs, employers, students, their parents, children, etc etc may find it if they google their stage names

you can preach all you want about it being legal, and just another job, and thats just fine, until its your sister, or daughter or mother, or someone your kid brings home to meet you that they want to marry

people's (myself included) double standard on it being ok to do porn, sort of reminds of the joke, walter cronkite once told, a little boy accidentally walked into his parents room while his father was fucking his mother...the dad sort of chuckled and told him to go back to his room...after a while they heard some screaming from the kids room, when they got there, the dad found his son fucking his grandmother, the little boy turned to his dad and said "not so fucking funny when its your mother now is it???!!!"

It's called ADULT work for a reason.

If you have any problems with it whatsoever:

Go sit at the kids table until you grow up!

On the other side I have been thoroughly shocked and awed to find pornstars who:
have masters degrees
have singing careers
have acting careers
are board certified laywers
manage real estate
are writers, philosophers, artists and the most free and fantastic people I have ever met.

Sooo....  who else will be in Vegas this weekend, write me and we'll shoot wink

Models do porn or strip because they need to make money. And they can make a large amount of money in a very short amount of time doing porn. Plus, porn work is extremely easy to find, and it ALWAYS pays.

This happens because nobody wants to pay models for modeling, and just for being little butterflies of beauty that they are.

I'm sure it has already been covered, but when I hire a model, I hire the model, not the things they do in life that are their own personal business.

I once had a closed mind to a lot of things, but now, I just think before I speak.

Actually, I think my adopted cat did porn before..  That hussy.

So they did porn...well...who cares...without naming names I know several...wait...I will name names....

I've done porn, still do porn...it has brought me more income (though not sufficient to make a living) than regular modelling ever did. I enjoy it, it's fun and I think perfectly normal. People want to watch it so people need to make it.

The health risk is actually less than picking up random strangers in a bar because you all get tested and have proof of that. As long as either party acts responsibly of course and doesn't go around doing things like...picking up random strangers in bars.

so there...be shocked wink

not really,  adult industry is hurting bad,  most porn chicks are searching for work.  only the new girls and the stars are doing ok.  of course if you're willing to do 'fetish' type stuff  for a guy in his wood veneer panelled basement for 200 dollars there's always work.

Wow, I've had this conversation far too many times in the past few years.....

i know the looney tunes in the hardcore porn biz and I know girls who escort and porn girls who escort  -   escorting is safer and preferable and more lucrative.  maybe a VIVID, WICKED, DIGITAL PLAYGROUND set is fine but i've heard horror stories from girls on shoots for the big gonzo porn studios.

girls used to do porn movies to make a name for themselves so they could be big money 'feature dancers' on the stripclub circuit.  today many keep doing porn movies to promote their career as big money Porn Star Experience escorts.

Not gonna say which one but one of my models has her own site.  She also has a Bachelors in Business Admin.  And even though she does porn, shes still a very nice person and one of my favorites to work with.  Tons of people would jump at the chance to know a porn star but to me shes still the same person.  After a shoot once we went to lunch and debated about seeing a movie.  I have also been known to dress models with my eyes closed by my choice. just a respect thing and I am well trusted.

I haven't shot with any of the yet, but yes, I have communicated with several MM models who do hardcore porn and a couple more who are escorts. No, it's not shocking.

I think porn has such a negative connotation because ANYONE can get into it, you don't even have to do that attractive, or have a nice body, or have any talent...just a working pussy.  I mean, guys will watch porn even if it is bad...like someone said, it ALWAYS pays.  It's not that hard to get into and amateurs will do it because they are desperate for money, I think that is why it doesn't get a lot of respect.  I still really like Jenna and Tera though...I think they are so pretty and glamourous and great entrepreneurs!

I remember looking at profiles on another modeling site back many years ago when I was getting started and looking for models to work with and get experience. I had a keen eye then about the look that I wanted. I must say that the models I tend to drift to back then had the all made up look of a porn star. Maybe I didn't know then about how I could do a background check on their names but I wasn't aware then that any did any porn.

Now fast forward to today. I will say that not all but some of the models I saw then are now doing porn. I didn't stand much of a chance of photographing them then and I know that I SURE DON"T have a chance of it now.

I don't look down on them for choosing that career path. I have had some models that do that tell me the money is way better than what they had been getting. So the end result is .....................Can you blame them??

Savvy porn girls make savvy models of all sorts.

If you were to look on some of the X-rated jobs sittes, you'd find lots of models who also appear on MM, OMP, etc., etc. But the non-X sites don't allow X networking. Thus, those models omit any mention of their X-rated work.

Considering we're talking about somebody's favorites in doing glam or art work, it would appear the contention lots of us have had is true: Adult models are relaxed and capable when it comes to other work, whether it involves nudity or not. Their easy-going demeanor when it comes to glam makes them great to shoot. It's a walk in the park compared to their "day jobs."

So, why would there be any surprise that at least some of the best models are from the porn arena?
