1/ Image did not load, please re submit.
2/ Image was DQ"d..
That would automatically go on the members file when it was sent out..
Would that not also save you time Jojo?..
You’re trying to be logical on MM.
I’m still waiting for bug fixes to the contest code from 2 years ago.

If an image is allowed to be included in a members portfolio following a discussion with a moderator (it follows MM's 18+ policy) then is it also allowable to be entered in the 18+ contest?..
Portfolio's and the 18+ contest run on the same rules I assume..
If you want to ask about the admissibility of an image to the contests I suggest you send me a CAM. In the CAM cite a URL of where I can view the image.
You are preaching to the choir.
The 2-day queue was brought in by my boss at IB... to save me time. (you figure that one out - I can't )
Copy + paste + send * 100 = 17 minutes. Sending the message is the easy part.
You forgot about the documenting in the DQ file and the notations that are made in the member's file... 100 * 1.75 minutes = 175 minutes.
Then there's the "whadya mean" responses to my cut n paste messages.
Are you suggesting I just delete them? Then what was the point in sending them in the first place?
I have to respond... and the responses are time consuming part of the job.
Why the hidden queue?
The answer is simple - the bozos that upload the full spreads, the sex pics, the outright porn, the defecation/urination pics, the bukaki pics, even kiddie pics.... yup, every damn day some bozo decided to upload this "stuff".
I had one guy upload a pic of 2 horses copulating... and he got all upset when I disqualified the pic and terminated his account That's why the queues are closed.
I've never had any doubt you're doing what you have to do and not what you want to do, and I sympathize with you about it. No one's ever been under any impression that anyone at IB understands this site.
All the same, you have to log the dq's and stuff whether you copy and paste or not, so it's still just an extra 17 minutes. And no, you don't have to respond to their follow up question or bitch. Like I said, put a note in the copy and paste saying this is the only correspondence there'll be.
Like I said, it's just a suggestion, and I don't blame you for not wanting to add any extra work to a process that you already volunteer a ton of time toward with pretty selfless motives.

I agree that IB has no clue what this site is about, but the folks at MM who slog out tasks manually that every other site in the world handles automatically do so willingly and with a fair number of built in excuses and indemnifications (we asked, but IB won't do it, etc.).
Could the site and contests run more efficiently, more fairly and more automatically? Of course. Will they? Not likely. As long as people click through from the edge-pushing porn to a page that has an ad on it somewhere on the site, IB is happy. If IB is happy, then nothing else really matters. Certainly not what some user who submits to a contest that doesn't even generate any direct ad revenue wants or thinks would improve their user experience.
So...this has probably been discussed but I can't go through 128 pages of discussion; that would prove a bit cumbersome. Yell at me if you want.
Why isn't there a bit of code in the contests to notify the contest participant that their picture has been rejected for either editorial reasons or when exceeding the 100-entry cap? I find it extremely frustrating when submitting images that don't show up in the contest but not knowing why.
Was the image rejected for being too racy? Or was it just fine but missed the 100 entry cap and I should resubmit another day?
It seems to me that this bit of code would be very easy to implement. Not doing so seems rather lazy, and an insult to the paid subscribers like myself who would like to be participating in these contests.
The rules my status but there is no 100 entry cap. In the list of runners up it states right at the top how many entrieswere there were. In the regular POTD More than 100 entries are routinely shown.

The 100 image cap was removed more than a year ago.
If you (or any member) would like to know why your entry was excluded from the contest please send me a CAM.
But before you send off that CAM check this utility:
http://www.sendu.me.uk/modelmayhem/15_d … id=2141825 to make sure your entry was not in violation of the 15 day rule.
Also, read and understand the image rules http://www.modelmayhem.com/help/rules/images If your response to the image rules is “but they are so loosely written – I want specifics”, here are several hundred (actually thousands) of acceptable entries as examples http://www.modelmayhem.com/contests/pot … le/winners Look at these acceptable images and learn.
If a specific image you submit is continually disqualified don’t submit it again… there is obviously something in that image causing the violation and disqualification.
If you still can’t figure out why your entry was not in the contest then send that CAM – I will respond fairly quickly, almost always within 6 hours.

Cool utility. Did not know about this. However when I checked it did not even show the last two entries that I made (which were successfully submitted according to the normal upload/submission process)...
Is this a known issue? Having contest submissions just disappear?

Contest entries do not just disappear - they go into the contest or are disqualified for various violations or are removed because of an incomplete upload.
Every entry is accounted for in my records.
As for your "missing" entries... brush up on the "emphasis on genitalia" rule.

When I check that utility page that you sent a link for, I see exactly one image that is marked "DQ" which I assume to mean "disqualified." I submitted two more images within the last week that are unaccounted for: no DQ, and no entry (but the site did indicate that the uploads were complete).

Did you read the first sentence at the top of the Sendu utility?
"Enter your MM username or number to see what photos you've entered into the PotD or PotD 18+ contests in the past 15 days, to avoid breaking the 15 day rule."
It is a 15-day checker - it's not an entry checker.
Your January 1 entry was disqualified - violation of "emphasis on genitalia and anus" rule
Your December 31 entry was disqualified - violation of "emphasis on genitalia" rule
Your December 30 entry was disqualified - violation of "emphasis on genitalia" rule
I know, I'm the one that disqualified these entries.
You now have 6 recent "emphasis on genitalia" violations on your record.
You are coming close to the point where I will have to suspend you for continued violations.
Please stop submitting entries that are in violation of the rules.

JoJo: don't misunderstand. I'm not trying to pick a fight. I'm just trying to understand the system. Thank you for clarifying that the linked page is only a 15-day checker. But if that's the case, then something is still wrong. If I understand you correctly, images DQ'd for content violation won't show up on that page. Only images that were successfully entered OR images that were DQ'd for breaking the 15-day rule will show up on that page. But the image I entered for December 30th is on that page (marked as DQ'd); that image was edited on the 28th and had only been entered once, thus it can't be a violation of the 15-day rule.
Again, I suggest a bit of code be added to the site to automatically notify the user when an image has been DQ'd for either reason (content violation or 15-day rule).

Thanks.
You have missed the point.
I have been waiting for corrections and revisions to the contest code for almost 2 years.
Silly little things like having closed contests display in order of votes garnered.
Silly little things like "http://www.modelmayhem.com/contests/potd18/female/runner_ups/130102" being changed to "runners_up"
Silly little things like removing the 100 pic cap and 200 pic cap statements
The contests are what they are - I have to work with what I have been given and try to figure out a 'better way' to work around the deficiencies.
My sympathies Jo Jo. It is evident that the powers that be care little or nothing for the contests. You think these much needed a little code changes could be done in an afternoon by 1 person.
Hi JoJo and thanks for your efforts and all the time you take to do what you do! I want to apologize for some folks on here. Reason being is that some of them need to put on their big boy pant's and man up! I mean really? WTF! You crying over something you aren't getting paid for just so you can put a little gold badge on your page saying you won potd? Really??? You need that validation? I shoot cuz I luv it, whether I suck at it or not. I still love it! I don't need an applause at the end of the day!....Grow up folks! Do it cuz you love it, not cuz you need a pat on the back ya pussy!!!!

Marin--is this directed at me? Pussy? Really?
My complaints aren't directed at JoJo. I'm trying to understand a contest system that is apparently riddled with lousy code...which is not JoJo's fault. So excuse me if I actually want to participate in the community but need to ask a few questions in the process.

The checker displays all entries that would count toward the 15-day rule, so you can avoid posting duplicates. Photos that get voted on, but are subsequently DQd (for any reason) count toward the 15-day rule, so I still display them.
So in your case, 2 of your entries were DQd before voting began, and don't show up in the checker. 1 of your entries was DQd after voting began, so was visible.
Again, I suggest a bit of code be added to the site to automatically notify the user when an image has been DQ'd for either reason (content violation or 15-day rule).
Contrary to what JoJo seems to be implying, I've offered to implement such a notification feature but she didn't want it: apparently it would end up causing her too much work (because if people actually know they've been DQd, they'll want to complain to her about it).

THANK YOU for finally explaining how this process works. I get it now.

Um. WOW.
I've decided to stop participating in the contests due to the seemingly arbitrary enforcement of the rules, and now have canceled my VIP subscription payment. I know it's only $10/month, but I won't continue to pay for a site with such lousy service.
It's not due only to this contest debacle, but my frustrations began to boil over a few months back when the site was having server problems for days or weeks on end (pages that wouldn't load leaving the site completely unaccessible and unusable)...and not even a hint of a refund or credit for the downtime. IB just kept charging the subscribers for a site that was broken.
Okay I truely confused, once again an image was suppose to be on the 18+ contest today has mysteriously disappeared. I checked the Sendu 15 day and it was still posted on there to be in todays contest and it's not. I know it couldn't of been "Emphasis on the genitalia" because it was my bottom end with a hint of my labia, nothing like whats posted in the 18+ contest today or even yesterday. Alittle help please!!

Venting a little are we? A sour grape or two? The contest is in and of itself a triviality. The term tempest in a teapot comes to mind. I suggest we all enter in Vogt and if per chance we get disqualified so be it. Move on and save wear and tear on our dispositions.

What is going to be next time? Nipples? Nothing but work safe shit?
This is getting... no it has been, quite silly....
What are they afraid of? Only members can view the thing in the first place.
As I removed your entry from the Jan 14th contest, because of the incomplete upload and malformed thumbnail, I thought to myself, "I know Gaze is an intelligent guy and will send me a CAM when he doesn't see his otherwise acceptable entry in the contest"... so I guess you're commenting on some other issue.
It was more of a reaction to the observation of my looking through the recent winner and runner-uppers once I saw my entry dissolved.
By no means was I slamming you JoJo. I was hoping you had the day off that day.
On the other hand, my post was more of a reason to get the forum back on the front page. It's been way too quiet lately.
A soapbox bump so-to-speak.
Thanks for the compliment BTW....
I should edit my post. I viewed today's voting with a scoured look and realized my mild rant was not at all the case as a whole. I think the pendulum has just swung in that direction for a while. It will swing back.
