Couples shoot and male models getting too excited
There's a very well-known male model in the northwestern US (who has done more than 100 m/f nude shoots), who says he always apologizes to the female model before doing such a shoot. "I apologize in advance if I become aroused during the shoot. And I apologize in advance if I don't." He says it's rarely an issue, but it happened a few times. From behind the camera, I'm not always in a position where I could tell if the male model became aroused. While I've never had this problem, I know that it's a possibility. Unless the female model is very experienced, I always let her know before the shoot that this could happen but probably won't. Then I suggest that if it does, she not make a big deal of it if it does, but just suggest that we take a break (during which we would regroup). Aug 24 14 06:44 am Link Hmmm. Just saw that this thread is 4 years old. Aug 24 14 06:45 am Link I wasn't on MM when this discussion first appeared, but I'll add my thoughts now. I have been modelling for a long time, 27 years now to be exact. During that time I have been placed with male models on more than a few occasions, both for photography and for figure modelling in art classes. Sometimes erections happen, and it doesn't seem to be related to the model being young and hot........I was in my 40's and 50's for most of the instances that happened and if there was physical contact between us as part of the pose, it wasn't the sort that could cause that reaction, more like a hand on the shoulder or waist. I'm sure they aren't coming into the assignment with the idea that they are going to get erect and show off, as some have been quite embarrassed when that happened. Eventually, the "problem" will go away and we proceed with posing. In art groups they rarely make any comment about it at all, and just continue working. Aug 24 14 10:31 am Link Aug 24 14 04:36 pm Link I have done over 25 human statue "couple" shoots involving husbands, boyfriends, and hired male models. Not once have I had a problem except for the one male model who took Viagra after his makeup was applied. I stopped the shoot, made him write an apology to female makeup artist and model. He is no longer on MM. Made him pay for makeup, female MUA and female models fees and charged him for my time. Aug 24 14 04:48 pm Link For erections lasting longer than 4 years please kill this thread... Aug 24 14 04:59 pm Link if the same male model is still having that problem with the same female then it must be love. Aug 24 14 05:12 pm Link Mmmmm. I dont't mean to pick bones here, but this is a hard problem and it will just get bigger if you don't do anything. You want relaxed subjects, both male and female, not uncomfortable, stiff models. Try arousing his interest in a different scenario, or erect a different background set. The last thing you want to do is rub him up the wrong way as you may engorge his anger and you'll end up with a swollen face. Anyway I hope these ideas that I've run up the flag pole have helped.
