Posing nudes with musical instruments
I have the urge to create some artistic nude images with women holding musical instruments. I just did a google image search to see what has already been done, or perhaps over-done. No luck. Are there any photos here on MM that show nude women holding musical instruments? Any advice on what to avoid? Cliches, etc... Thanks!! Same sort of thing has been overdone with a guitar, both electric and acoustic, and somewhat with a violin so I'd avoid the string section. Now a model with a piccolo or a tuba, you pretty much have an open field. Likewise a bassoon, or trumpet. Cymbals... (Be careful with cymbals... there are things that could get pinched. I would stay away from stringed instruments, unless I were doing a wide range of musical instrument photos, and simply wanted to add a stringed instrument shot to a collection of images that also contained many other instruments. Likewise, it might also work well if there are several instruments in the same photo. For example, I don't think anyone on Mayhem has photographed a nude symphony orchestra yet. I think setting the right mood/tone is very important. A slight variation in mood can be the difference between tacky and very appealing on a basic level. I look forward to seeing your results.
