One of the items this forum is missing is a thread dedicated to opportunities outside of MM for retouchers looking for more work.

For everyone who comes across opportunities that they want to pass along, this would be a good place to post a few.

I'll start with one that I found recently, should any of you like to apply:

http://jobview.monster.com/GetJob.aspx? … rom=indeed

Hopefully everyone helps keep this going, let's get people working!

Nice!

There are some firms in the UK and US recruiting right now. These were referred by some friends and since I am not known to the ads in person, I will post links of the firms directly:

http://studioprivate.co.uk

http://www.onrequestimages.com

Hopefully somebody fills up a position. Please keep in mind these are onsite jobs.

Good catch.

Funny it is a high pressure job, yet they want a so called junior.

Sorry but color correction is something few juniors will have.

One place I do look often is Communication Arts, job listings. There have been some really good jobs for serious retouchers with exceptional skills.

Good idea, it can't do any harm to have more work being pointed out smile

Here is another resource that could be helpful:

http://www.creativedir.com/directory/art/retouchers

Companies who use creative services like retouching as a part of their company. A good idea to pay attention to what may be open with them.

I think this topic has the potential to become a sticky...

Any mods here that think the same?

A pr0n house which demans 'no blur' in their retouch?

That's funny on about a dozen levels.

I particularly enjoyed the 'comprehensive benefits package' part.

I worked one of those jobs for years before I discovered working on real models. Haha!

One for Saks Fifth Avenue

Though the duties aren't just retouching, so read carefully before applying.

I'd push your luck and go for it! It may not be a deal breaker if they love your resume/portfolio. I've had instances where this was the case.

...This website is fairly useful for quick freelance jobs and bits and pieces to keep you busy - but it is also a 'bidding' based site, where you will essentially be bidding against others interested in applying for the freelance work.

There are quite a few jobs being posted consistently and the email notifications can be set to receive job posts almost immediately; if you're consistently in your office/online etc.. it can be a really great, quick, immediate and efficient source of 'quick-earners' so to speak.

You also have your own 'freelancer' profile - so the whole process is essentially like a portfolio-based-social-network but for 'work'.

So far, had a few nice returns. smile

I just like being opportunistic

you post a job opening on this forum and suddenly you have competition

Just last week I was talking to a friend of mine who wants to move back to NY.
Here in Los Angeles, he lives in a gated community with pool, gym, 24/7 security and he drives a beamer, back in new york, he lived in a basement with no window, walks 6 blocks just to get into the train, walks 5 blocks every week just to do laundry ...

His exact words were ... "the energy is just different".

I am intrigue. I want to try too.

Here's another recent opening for Perry Ellis if anyone is interested! Reasonable request. Even if you don't have the school background I would still give it a shot.

You'd lock the thread?  That would stop other people from posting in it.  What would that accomplish?  /confused
