Does anyone know how to find retouching houses to submit portfolio work too?  I've tried googling them and only one or two come up.  I'd really love to get started in this field and I feel I can do the work, but unfortunatly i'm just now going back to school, and a majority of the jobs I've seen out there are requiring a four year degree.  Hopefully I'm not just SOL till i have a degree, i'd love to find even just some part time freelance opportunities, just to start getting my feet wet.

on a side note, glad to see you're going to be doing a seminar with Natalia Jeff, that is going to be a very informative two days!

Hey...is there anyone in the NYC area that can work on site? I'm looking for an mid-level 'experienced' retoucher to freelance. I don't want to advertise, because I always have to sift through a million responses from graphic designers and other non-retouchers thinking they can just figure it out as they go.

I need someone who is already proficient!

Thanks,

email me at cdbeene@gmail.com if interested.

I have an opening at the studio for a Post Production Intern.

He or she must have a basic understanding of the technical aspects of retouching fashion & beauty photography. Basic Photoshop knowledge is a must; knowledge of Indesign a bonus. The following are required for consideration:

* Must be able to travel to and work at our studio in NYC (midtown Manhattan) 3 days a week (some weekend and evenings)
* Comfortable with image cleanup, cutting paths, and file organization
* Ability to work with a positive attitude as a member of a team in a fun yet busy NYC studio
* Must get along well with our studio puppy Pixel, She will be making the final decision ;-)

We require a minimum commitment of 3 days a week. We also work with your school if you would like to receive credit. We will be doing some traveling to work on location. A majority of the internship will involve retouching but you will also get experience as a digital tech, prepping files and layout for print, and other areas in post. You will never be asked to clean a bathroom.

As a bonus- you'll be able to attend Natalia Taffarels NYC Retouching workshop in July that I am orginizing for free.

If you are interested contact me at Jeff@Red-Fog.com. Interviews are starting this week  (June 1st 2011) I would like to find someone in the next week or two.

Thanks :-)

I would move to NY to work at Box, if I didn't have a family as my first priority.
