Nailed Jello II Photoshoot

November 27th 2010

Come Join the fun.  I know your thinking I lost my mind but I want to have another successful Nailed Jello Photoshoot"this" Year and December is so booked.

I figure Everyone enjoys Thanksgiving Thursday then visits family Friday Then there is still two days left on this long weekend. Why not throw an event in there?  You could
always walk around the house wishing there was something going on OR watch the final results of dressing Bambi after the hunter in the home just added a window in him OR you
can come hang out with friends and network and get awesome photos!!  Ya cant tell me your leaving town for the Holidays (Only rich people can do that now LOL) Its a party.

The perfect opportunity to get those Holiday shots ready for port posting or Holiday cards or those steamy photos for that special holiday suprise. This way we the photogs

have plenty of time to deliver before the holidays are here.

So hey come on down it will be fun.

To sign up contact Jim Bunker 262-914-5052 or [email protected]

We are looking for MUA and Hair to attend. (there will be some pay involved)(let me know)

Hope to see you there

So now the models are paying more than the spectators? Interesting idea.

IMO, I think the spectators should be paying more than the photographers.

I was thinking along these lines as well.  I think it should be higher in order to discourage people from bringing guests.  It's annoying when people especially bring their pervy friends who pull out their camera phones.  While these events are made to be fun, this isn't a party, and sometimes "guests" don't know how to be professional and behave themselves.

Im not encouraging guests at all but some models wont come unless their boyfriend/escort/mom comes with... I have no issues with that BUT guests eat the food too and that costs me $$  so I have to charge something for the guest/escort

Ha,  the models always paid more than guest since Im only charging guest to help pay for the food they eat and the right to be at the event.  You cant tell me $10-$15 bucks is a huge price for a day where photographers and talented models are all in the same secure location for a day of great networking, fun and shooting.  Plus free food Hair and Makeup

I never seen this happen at my events. Plus if we catch them doing that they will be asked to leave along with the person they came with

Most model's wont come if there will be an audience of random boyfriends and mothers staring at them...

I am honestly offended by the fact that the op is profiting by putting these models on live display for general admission of the public.

What's more confusing is that these models are willing to pay him too to do this!

Legitimate question here OP: Are you trying hard to make a mockery of the freelance side of the industry....or is it just coming naturally to you?

There isnt general admission to the public at all.   GUESTS by my definition is the escort that accompanies the model or photographer to the event because I have to provide food to them.   As for making a profit.... This is what I do.  I run workshops and event all over the country.  I provide a safe cool location for models and photographers to come together for a great day of photography and fun.  This isnt a general public event. it is for model photographers MUAs and Hair Stylists. BUT if you bring an escort I will be charging them to enter with you.

I get that point but so far we have had great numbers at every event for the last 5 years. Im not worried if every model doesn't come.  My observation thus far  Ive only seen 1 or 2 escorts come to an event anyway.

I run events on 3 levels

National Workshops :: Models are invite Only ::
Mentors teach models and photographers different styles and techniques ::
Usually a bit more pricey because allot of expences

Local Workshops  :: Usually Local Models , Invite Only ::
Local Mentors
Less   Pricey  Less expenses

Group Shoots :: OPEN to Photographers and Models from beginners to advanced
More based on Networking and portfolio building (Perfect for newer models and photographers
Very low Cost for all involved but I pay MUAs and Hair and Food so I have to bring in enough to cover these expenses plus make a profit

This is my Job   I support 3 young children by myself on the money I make from photography and workshops, Plus Im doing what I love bringing people together to enjoy photography as much as I do.

I did take offense to you calling me stupid in your reply.  Try communicating a little before condemning people .

Have a nice day

Gotta love it when people start controversy in forums.  The best part is it keeps the event on page 1.  Unfortunately  it is usually the people who were on the gotta work with list.  Usually they do it so you go check out their ports smile It works too. So no worries about that smile The best part of being on Model Mayhem is there is plenty of drama.  But online drama is so un-arousing.  almost boring!! But good advertising!!  I could create a forum that says Grandma Jones' flowers are pretty this year and somehow there will be something to start drama over.  BTW Grandma Jones' Flowers were pretty this year smile  Enjoy the episode.

No worries about the event were looking at a good 4 to 1 ratio  Models v/s Photographers  so far.  Plus allot of new faces from the Milwaukee and Chicago areas.  This one will be pretty good even with being on a Holiday weekend smile

Come on down

Wow, seriously?  My comment about the guests was because sometimes models think that they need an "entourage" and bring more people than necessary, but this is not open to the public in the least.  I don't understand why you would think the event is open for anyone to come, because it's not.

As for this:

This screams diva.  You really need to take a chill pill on the personal attacks.

I think Models and Photographers who have made it well in this industry should present themselves as role models for the next generation.  I know I try to be that way at all times.  There are some very talented people in this industry that are absolutely a joy to be around and work with.  For me I look up to Michael Rosen, TH Taylor (Although I cant keep up with his party levels,  LOL), Don (Southbound), DK, Jeff Scott & Michael Lapointe. They have been role models for me and I have learned a great deal from those guys over the years.  As for Models that I look up to... (There are many more than I will type here but...Charlie Kristine, Nicole Moser, Valerie Whitaker, Kobe, Adrina, among many many more.  They are always willing to talk and work hard and treat others (Photographers and Models) with respect and dignity.  Sometimes They disagree with me but they are able to communicate it to me in a non offensive way and I am more apt to either change or explain my point.

Respect the industry and you will earn respect from the industry!

I've only seen a couple of guests and they have been either a mom with a minor, or a boyfriend helping his girlfriend with her wardrobe and such.  This isn't a free for all with random people off the street.  People should get their information straight before shooting off their mouth, these events are fun and well monitored.

We were always on the same page.  You just misread my intention and my event procedures and in typical Model Mayhem fashion it went wild

I cant remember a forum for any of my events that it didn't have at least one person be annoyed with some rule at the event or something.  No worries though 99% of the time its for personal advertisement to an event they are doing or to get people to their port (which by the way I'm all for it!!) But even better it keeps my forum on the 1st page of the event listings and that pays triple dividends smile thats why they call it "Mayhem"

Hey Mac   I dont think I like your hair. Do you really expect to get an Herbal Essence spot this year LOL

Looks like my calendar is free for that weekend. So I'll get to attend my first Mayhem event! I can't wait to meet some of photographers and models that are close to home that I haven't met yet. And it looks like a great chance to build my port. (It really needs work.)

Looking forward to a great time.

I would love to come and have NO problem with the guests being there.  It would be fun.  I just can not make it this weekend. Actually, I would love if you would have one of these events on a Sunday, so I can make it.
