Okay look, not sure if you realize this, but your expectations are unwarranted. I'm not trying to be mean about any of this, but I must bring it to your attention, so please, don't take offense. I took the liberty of highlighting some obvious reasons that should help clarify things for you. The first, in Yellow, is your problem... The second, in Yellow, is rather selfish.. a retoucher needs to show and should show a before and after of a photographers work, so as to show their skills... without it, what the sense, how would, anyone searching for a talented retoucher, know if the photo being shown is not the skill of the photographer instead? The Third, in Green,.. well, look, it just seems that, it's becoming a bad habit, on this site... If you really want to see what retouchers can do, so you can find a retoucher to fit your style and work with them, then cool, have at it, but to ask for the Hi-Res copy to be emailed to you of one you like, is just downright, well, sneaky. That's just another way of showing, and selling, your client a great photo, without having to pay the retoucher for the work they put in...and trust me, it's not an easy job to do, retouchers do amazing work. So I ask you this... If a retoucher asked you to take photos for them and asked you for the hi res so they can retouch them and because they liked the photo they retouched, they in turn asked you for the raw file and rights to the photo, would you give it, without being paid? or they turned around and sold the photo, without paying you for the work you put in, in taking the photos? I would think not. The Fourth, in Red..., the most OBVIOUS!!! How are you going to pass out files for retouching, realizing that some, if not most, retouching, are being done by talented Photographers, that are skilled enough to do it, and you have the audacity to say that THE IMAGES CAN ONLY BE POSTED IN A RETOUCHER'S PORT. NOT PHOTOGRAPHERS??? Really?? you don't see anything wrong with this? of course, you have a lot of downloads and not equal amount of posts. Once they read that, whats the use in retouching your photos. As I said before, I'm not trying to be mean, just don't see how this is fair to anyone, but you. Oh by the way, This Model needs no retouching, she's strikingly beautiful and the photo is perfect just the way it is. ~Sebastian

i don't really know squat about photoshop. just needed to kill some time while on a conference call, so did this to the low-res version. if you'll send links to hi-res files to me i'd be happy to play with and share any results with you.

Let me start by saying that if you don't like the conditions the photographer has made, simple, don't download and/or don't retouch them. 2. I also don't like before and after pictures posted - If a retouchers wants to show the before and after, simply reference the post in which he used the image from. Problem solved!! 3. I agree with you in that many photographers are posting an abundance of images to get free work. Yes, every day is a new shoot and asking for high resolution - However, not everyone is like that - There have been many times that I post images that didnt make my cut for people to practice and I ask for high resolution images. However, I also sent the ones that made it to my retoucher. I just like to see peoples work at high res. So with that said, don't assume that everyone is doing what a few are ... 4. Lastly, I don't see what's so hard for you to understand about this one. If a photographer likes to retouch, that's cool. If he wants to display his retouching work, open a retouching portfolio/mm account. A lot of photographers post retouched images in their port and pass them as theirs. Others don't pass them as theirs, however, they stay silence when being compliments as "their" work .. so this one is the one you have the biggest problem with and I think is the most obvious one to why some people dont like photographer doing their images!

Oh by the way, This Model needs no retouching, she's strikingly beautiful and the photo is perfect just the way it is. ~Sebastian Wow this gave me a chuckle! Thanks! Also a quick thanks to the people that PM'd me about this thread....that I may add is very old. They also did not agree with you. I don't have a lot of time as I am shooting today in Miami....but let's see how much I can get done. Yellow: It's cool to play and have fun..... I mean it's MM right?! I also like to see what other people see when they retouch. I love the creativity and what a talented person can see that I may not. So in the end.... guess what. They are my files so I can take them down whenever I want and for whatever reason. 2nd Yellow: I could really care less for myself but I do consider how the model in the picture may feel about having a before shot posted. If you don't like this so far then don't play in the game. Green: Funny again.. If you don't like it don't play. I have hired retouchers out of this very thread as a matter of fact. That being said, I like to see the Hi res file to have a closer look. I mean I don't really need it as my portfolio is not in print for the past 4 years. There is one (maybe two) that I used after talking with the Retoucher.... and guess what... they used it too. So hmmmm let's see.... they got something and I got something. They did not seem upset in the least (if not the opposite) that I asked to use it on my MM or Website. Now, it would be sneaky had I not asked or set expectations at the start of this thread, but that is not the case my friend. Red: It REALLY surprises me that you would have problem with this. To me it is just common sense and I probably considered not saying it.... but I am so glad I did now! I did not realize that someone out there would actually may want to take the photography and pass it off as their own. I am sure you would not do that since you work is so great but I guess there are people out there...it is the internet. Most of the very talented Photographers that you may be referring to more than likely have Retouching ports already. But once again not to seem mean or rash..... that is just the way I wanted it so that is what I did as it was my choice and anyone else's choice to participate. Cheers, -troy

Hey everyone.... I thought this thread was dead. When I get back to my other computer I will try to make the link live again.... it was so long ago that I have to find that damn folder. Thanks so much to everyone (and I mean everyone!) for participating with images, opinions and knowledge. Cheers, -troy
