So I finally got new little suitcase for my kit. I wanted something smaller that I can wheel around; my back pack was giving me breakouts on my back. Plus my I started slouching.
I got little Kenneth Cole suitcase and re-organized everything Two large bags, one all skin care, first aid, sanitation products. Second bag is all foundations, primers, powders etc.  I also placed smaller bag of lip glosses and lip liners in it as well. I am slowly fazing  my MAC out, I have few paints and pigments left (did not buy anything from them in 3 years now). I love new artist lines (started by makeup artists) as well as Benefit, Smashbox, Make Up For Ever etc. I know one of my favorite things is peaking in other artists kits, so now you can take peek at mine. If anyone else wants to share photos of their kit, I would love to see it.

Great kit..
I have the clear vinyl bags piped in black, but they're the small ones. I love the ones you have with the handles. Where'd you get them?

YOu know, I got lucky. I got the down in SOHO in some discount store. I think they were like 4 bucks a peice. I had bunch of small ones before, but it becomes pain, packing - unpacking. This way you grab them by the handle and voila everything you need in two big bags. Much easier.
P.S
I have more makeup than this, but this is edited for streets of NYC. I have everything I need in those bags. I hate lugging stuff around. I was really born for car service but, fate did not catch up yet LOL.

Vik,

Love the organization and the size of the bag? Did you get that bag at TJ Maxx? Oh and I was wondering, in the second picture, I'm assuming that's lipsticks, where did you get that awesome container and did you just stick the labels from the original container on the bottom? Thanks!

I got the bag from Century 21. Lipstick case I got in container store (they are one for bead craft storage). Then I melted my lipsticks in microwave for 10 second (then I let it cool a little and then do it again) and stick original sticker from the lipstick on the bottom.

Wow you have a LOT of stuff!

I was wondering about the lipstick myself.  That's a great idea.  I want to get the Japonesque pallete and scoop out all my loose lipsticks but then I might forget the names and brands.

Everyone's Japanesque lipstick pallete I saw what a mess. Lipstick ends up melting and smearing on that devider, creating greasy mess.
That is why I like it more in deeper devided spaces.

Wow - that looks great! I love looking at other people's makeup. big_smile

I'm not sure whose seen my kit already, but here is the link to the little page I created: http://www.alwaysmadeup.com/mykit.html

But since taking those pictures, I've upgraded from two MUFE palettes to three, and most likely four by the end of the summer.

Girl, you are MASTER organizer. AMAZING! You must drive right? There is no way you can lug all of that on the street of New York and not loose your mind.
That was nice visual treat. Anyone else wants to share?
P.S
I love Kipling bags and i LOVE pink. I wish I could find affordable pink kipling bag, like one I bought. I saw nice maroon one but it was 250 (from Kipling). too much.

Haha nope, mostly I take the subway. Well, when I was in NYC last week I just took public transit and splurged on a taxi once...It actually wasn't that bad at all. In Toronto, I sometimes have a car to borrow. But when I'm back in NYC after September, I'll be relying on the good ole subway. I really should condense my kit more, though....but I hate not having EVERYTHING with me...I always think to myself that I have too much makeup, but then again, can you ever have too much? lol

xo!

Vik, great organization.  Love the bag.
I know what you are saying about the Japonesque pallettes.  I have to find the time to transfer to the new boxes I bought.  It just looks so messy when the colors are all over the center part.
Thanks for the inspiration!

seriously, and i don't just use it for funky stuff. I have used them as a eyecolor base, mixed cream blush and lipcolor. On the picture in my Avi, I used it on the model's eyes to make the black super black. It's not even that expensive.

I use black and white to mix in the foundations, if I need lighter or darker color.
I use them as eyeshadow base, blushes, body paint, lipstick I mean ..........EVERYTHING.

Does anyone know where I can get the MUHE Flashcolor pallete? I can't find a website or anything. Also, does anyone know where I can get a case that comes with a folding table?

I used to have ALL of my stuff in smaller bags, very organized but even with a car, I got sick of lugging all that stuff around. Slowly I have downgraded and now only carry one small silver traincase and a Japonesque bag (the one with pockets on the outside for bottles and such).

I just moved to the east coast and the first thing I did was buy storage to house all the makeup I had to send here to a friend. I bought silver metal drawers from Ikea and they are all sorted by face, skincare, eyes, lips, etc and now I have my basic kit and if I need something special I can just pack it before my shoot.

In my traincase though are my palettes (foundation creams, foundation powders, lipstick, shadows, cream blushes, nars blushes (baked and put into palettes) and OF COURSE I have the MUFE creams. Mine are old school style though, in the panstick form so I had to make my own "flash colour" palette..it also has other creams and highlighters.

Maybe I will get around to taking photos of everything later smile

I do have to say though...I almost NEVER used even half of the stuff I used to lug around with me and now its so much easier to travel with one case and one bag..car or train..

my absolute favorite thing to keep my kit organized and clean and glitter free is the GLAD press N Seal I use it over my pallets to keep things from "floating" and it keeps glitter from spreading all over my kit smile
I too will be  posting my "monster box" later, just need to take some images smile
It so nice to see everyone sharing smile rock on people !!

You can't purchase directly from the website, and Sephora does not have any of the pallettes.  Where else can I get these?

You can order it from their SOHO store 212-941-9337
In order to use your discount, you need to order from the store anyway and they have it.

other side close up checkout the ziplock bag of lip and eye  pencils smile, I love them cheap and easy to fold and fit smile

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d99/DeadlyDesign/eyelashtube.jpg

the eye lash tube a favorite little way to store my lashes in clean and orderly fashion. major space save, no more lash containers found in my kit, just a sleek and cheap tube that does the trip, I have them labled on the back to i knowwhat I used andwhat needs to be replaced.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d99/DeadlyDesign/loosepowderkitCU.jpg

Glad Press N Seal demo over my powder pallets, works like a charm and keep things where they should be. Great if you have a wheely kit and the vibrations cause the powders to move around and make a mess. Cheep and works great smile Awsome for glitter smile

thanks thats one of my lucky black cats... his name is Elvis.

The only thing that sucks about the quad packs is that they are hard to find, but I am sure you could find them somewhere closer to you. I had to go to a lot of different stores in LA just to find the ones that I have, they even make a little quad pack that fits mascara wands, lip gloss wands, q-tips and whatever else you want to put in there. It is a great way to stay organized. When I am on a job I just stack them o top of each other and I can still get to what I want.
