and KApphoto is there it is second on the panel because they are in alphabetical order. My folder puts them automatically in order so I just put them in the order in my folder:)

Yep I see it, thanks. Happy voting :]

And to bug you one last time..it might only be me, but enlarging the entries when they're on the entry board, decreases both quality (lower res preview was used to enlarge it) and viewability (made that word up tongue)
Just like you dont watch a poster or big painting from a foot distance..

Am I alone in this?

hmmmm... I noticed that a couple were much smaller than the others. which I was like hmmm... that was weird they started from the same image lol

The problem I have is if I reduce the large ones too much then the same thing happens unless I go in an manually set each image to the same size before I make the panel. (Which is an option but then I have to open each and instead of click grab and shift click)

I could next week implement a size requirement for each to prevent this from happening? What do you all think? Maybe standard 8.5x11 @300 should work fine for the final entries. most of them should be able to be downsized to that pretty easily.

I think both ways have benefits:) I will work on that for the next contest so that I can make everything as optimal as possible for everyone. Im still learning as I go and have RL stuff going on as well:) But thank you for the input and I will try and take steps to fix this for future contest.

Apart from different crops, it's also because nobody placed the fullsized image here, because (I guess) of what I mentioned earlier; a painting looks horrible from up close too, since it wasn't designed to be viewed so close (and I dont assume every person/voter here has a 27'+ monitor and standing 2 meters away from their screen tongue).

I dunno, but why reduce or resize at all?
If the uploader made something that looks better zoomed in, or want to show certain details, I'd expect he/she would've uploaded a bigger version.

Waaay to big for voting, that's 3000+px on the longest side yikes
I think standards you see on worth1000 and here in POTD are fine.

well the problem comes that I cant put a bunch of different sized images on the panel. If some images are larger than others then people complain saying that I preferred one image over another or that I am giving another image a better chance of winning because it is larger than another, ya know what I mean.

PS I say this because over the last year this has already happened lol

But I am not changing the crop or anything about the image other then shift clicking it to make it fit within the guidelines I have created for the voting panel.

My process for the panel is I drag the images in if they dont fit within the panel guides that I have created for the week which is usually 1 inch on both sides depending on the images submitted ie if there is port and landscape subs.

I try to make things as even and fair as possible but over the last year I am sure that the panel size has grown and I can take a look at it's current size compared to the MM panel and adjust it. When I originally started the contest I made the panel from the MM panel. But because this contest is slightly different than others ie it allows members to sub 1-3 images it is hard to keep things clean and even when 3 people have 1 and one person has 2. Also remember I am not spending all night on these panels:) But I honestly do try and make it look as clean as possible.

updated with contest sorry I had a pipe bust in my studio!

Creating winners panel next but contest is up.

This week's it was hard for me to choose a winner as I was torn between two entries.

My final decision was made based on the fact that I felt that I had a better chance of seeing one image in a gallery JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE!

The winner is AshleyCT

Ok, so I have very little expectations this week, but...  I asked my wife for the first think that came to mind if I said out of the darkness.  Somehow she came up with Dark Side of the Moon...  First thing that came to my mind was Pink Floyd...  I guess by the time you play "what's the first think you think of" twice, the original theme is lost.  Either way, making the logo was fun and here's my edit...

here is the panel for the week. I didnt play with the sizes of the images submitted and made the panels around them. Let me know what you all think.

Ok to the contest this week is the iron man challenge it is everyone versus me:)
The theme for this week is Out of the Darkness so basically you just vote for who you think best fit the theme!
Good Luck to everyone as always.

I remember a thread in the forums about this.
If you dont have a website where you can ftp it or have dropbox, you can use online image hosting services. Just do a google search (with some you cannot delete the image, unless you get a paid account, while other do let you delete it without signing up).

http://photobucket.com/ is one you could try

k guys I will be closing this contest tonight and we will have until next sun to vote for the winner. I have a couple people having issues with subs and the forum being wonky! If it has not been figured out by the time I put the panel up I will just add them to the panel as they have sent them to me via email.

Roger NP but please post a link with images that are not watermarked for the panel. It is fine if the ones you link ie the way you have it now have watermarks but for the voting panel all of the images need to be watermark free:)

(You can shoot me a pm with the links as well just as long as I have something to put on the panel)
