I have noticed there is not very manny of them.  trying to do a doll shoot but found that most women have long faces.  at least the ones that are model specs.  Not sure why we don't have more models with baby faces.  I know a few that are baby faced but most of them are shorter then standerd hight and dress size.

I honestly wonder if round faces have anything to do with the way our fat and muscle is shaped around our skull.

Don't get me wrong I am not looking for a ball of a face but just round like a porcelain doll.

Here is a good example

http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/c/0/0/70/d/AAAADDnVp4oAAAAAAHDezg.jpg?v=1252787607000
http://i1.squidoocdn.com/resize/squidoo_images/-1/lens6598232_1251038557victorian-porcelain-dolls.JPG

I know this is a particular look but I am really starting to wonder if there is a trend with only women with long faces really thinking they are model materiel or of they are getting filtered out.  that is the round face models not getting a chance.   I think out of all the people I looked for maybe 3-4 people even remotely came close.  Most of them are really green models.  doesn't matter to me I like them both but for the most part I think there is a trend here.

Asian women tend to have that bone structure more often than caucasian.

You might have to put a wig on an asian.

Or perhaps the taller you are, the longer your bones including the ones in your face? Just a guess....

I recall a photoshoot she did back in the day, story book themed. There was a gorgeous edited shot of loads of Lily's in a tree. It was very sweet, I will have to track it down when I am on my PC

Definitly Lilly Cole! She has the perfect round shaped face. She'd make a great doll model smile

Usually round faces lack bone structure or come off looking pudgy. I assume that's why they're not prefered in models. Lily Cole (and pretty much all the other models listed) have faces that are, IMO, more heart-shaped than round.

I was going to say that, i never would have thought of Lily Cole as having a round face, she seems to have a wide forehead and cheekboes leading down to a dainty little chin, heart-shaped IMO.

I think i have a round face but i'm not sure hmm

I would say you are much more oval/possibly heart shaped than round.

I second the suggestion for asian models....have you tried searching for them on here?

I don't care if its oval shaped.  I am more concerned that it os more round then long.  Most dolls have round faces.  if its close its fine.  as for the two lovely models interested the requirements must be a dress size 0-2. and 5'6'' - 5'8''

the designers dress can ONLY fit those body types

I wasn't applying for the job or anything, just illustrating the whole face shape thing smile

I'm round-faced and doll-sized, good luck finding a 5'8'' dolly tongue

My suggestion would be find an asian gal, they make the cutest dolls anyway IMHO.

^This~ The more defined, "chiseled jaw" structure and thin, pointed nose generally tends to photograph better.  I guess that might be why the fashion modeling world often seems to favor an androgynous look.

I'm 5'8" and fairly slim by most standards but have a rather oval face, and often end up finding that my face looks "fat" in most photo angles. Sadly it's because of the way my jawbones are set so even if I lost more weight it wouldn't really slim down my profile. I do have a shorter, somewhat chubbier friend who claims her round face is due to fat buildup in her cheeks, so it could go either way (but she also has a pointy, defined chin and is probably more of a heart-shaped face).

Yes me too, I think my face is round, or at least wider because of my polish cheekbones.
It is something I am trying to embrace as beautiful, although in actuality I wish I had more narrow bone structure. My boyfriend says he loves my cheeks... Bleh, we all want what we don't have :p

I think my face is round. I think that's what makes me look unique. It definitely makes me look way younger than my age. I should try a doll shoot, I think I would do great at that. Thanks for the idea

I don't think that it's the longer, more oval shaped faces that are the trend..it's more due to that fact that tall, thin women trend in the modeling world. If you're body is built long and thin,  your face will have the genetic tendency to be long and thin, too. You wont often see a woman that has a long, lean body with a round, plump face. Though I guess Miranda Kerr is the best example I can think of, but she's a rare breed.

If you're wanting models with this type of face, you'll have to search for the ones that have the types of bodies that generally go with doll faces; shorter and curvier.

My face is both square and flat so it comes off as round, but certain angles make give more distinction than others.

Some of my more rounder looks:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/thing/25.jpg?t=1312194986

I give different looks that appeal to a larger frequency, but the downside is that they expect the look stable and consistent. Photographers end up exhausting more test shots to find the angle that works. It comes with having a multi dimensional face shape. In my port, you'll see that I collect more oval or heart shaped since they're more desirable... sad

I have a round face. In fact, people call me Pumpkin, after the pumpkin faced girl in Memoirs of a Geisha. Your body is proportionate based on the golden ratio. So I believe we have more miniaturized features, and the lack of distinct chin/jaw area and cheekbones is a result of that. Also, people in Asia tend to walk around a lot, as well as general exercise. The muscles in your face don't get as much exercise, or toning.

According to psychology research, a smaller jaw makes women more sexually attractive (it is the opposite for men), so I am not too surprised that there is a relative shortage of rounder faces because that would mean a larger jaw.

HI!
My name's Nicole! lol!
I have a baby face. I'm not round in the jawline but very round in the cheeks.
Which I believe is a modeling flaw. Only because I'm aiming to do editorial work with agencies and there girls have such sleek faces.

As you look through my port you can see that I'm able to angle and manipulate my face so that my cheeks don't seem so round.
But I'll always get shots where you can see my obvious cheeks squish my face. (which makes my lips seem even smaller) but I don't normally add them to my port.

huh..I guess I do have a bit of a round jaw line

Everyone always wants to dress me up like a doll.  I'm not sure if it's my face shape, though.  I just have huge eyeballs.

For example... lol
