It seems to me that after you do porn it is hard to go back to just modeling, I have never done porn so i don't know for sure. What do you think? can you do both? and at what point do you become a pornstar?

Artistic nude is not porn.
Something is porn only when somebody uses that something to fulfill his/her own sexual desire.

Right...

But we're talking about porn in here.

EDIT: and people use artistic nudes to fulfill their own sexual desire, I promise you, but that doesn't make them porn.

People can both model, and act in porn, at the same time.

It's not a huge deal.

Contrary to popular opinion, having porn clips/movies out there does not mean that someone's artistic nude, or glamor work just suddenly goes to shit.

I promise you that some of the models whose artistic work you likely admire very much, have also shot work that many would consider pornographic. The money earned from the more erotic stuff (and everyone's definition of porn is different) often pays for them to be able to create art.

I think that if you do porn it would be quite hard to get back into anything that wasn't porn because people can still access what you've done in the past. Just as it is with other decisions.

I think modelling would be more forgiving though, although it depends on so many other factors - how much porn there was, what style of modelling they'd like to do now etc. Miss Universe Pageants cannot have done any porn, so you obviously can't do something like that, but there are other sectors where they don't mind at all. Porn may also help to loosen someone up and show that they're confident about their body.

So I suppose it could go either way and it really depends on what you want to do.

It takes a degree and years of experience to be called an architect;

You would have to build a few bridges to be called a bridge builder;

But suck just ONE c**k........... and you can guess what you will be called!

I suck cock all the time, I think it's the doing it for money on camera that can embarrass you if you don't own it.

Luckily there's a whole world out there that doesn't care.

Best Answer of the night.  I don't get this invisible scarlet letter - that taints all subsequent work after doing porn.  What a freaky magic concept.

My experience is limited, but I've shot at least one well known "porn star" as a model of outdoor nudes.

Outside of the fact, that she may be one of the smartest people I have met - she is also a very fun and creative model - and we had a great time and got some wonderful images.

She makes a good and empowering living from porn - No big deal.  I'd shoot her anytime, in any number of settings.

Well, a porn star stars in porn.  But "Porn" and "art" live together happily in their unique and endearing way.

It's a good thing that porn isn't as obscene as beauty pageants.

I've seen quite a few porn stars on MM here so...

In a glamour modeling way, I think you'd end up getting even more offers once you're a "porn star."  I know a lot of girls "in the industry" do movies to up their profile (fame) because then they get paid more to strip.

I've wondered this as well.
A moviestar is a celeb,  household name, on magazine covers , yet anyone who does a few tapes we dub a pornstar.

No doubt to adult industry insiders, fans,  it's no mystery.... as there are "oscars" for adult film actors of stature.

Well, i'm glad it's different in USA.

In Sweden, once you're exposing yourself in Slitz, FHM or one of the even more hardcore "porn" magazines, you're dead to commercial swedish fashion. At least if people recognize you.

When i look for stolen pictures of mine the main places i find them are forums/blogs dedicated to fetishes for socks, stockings, legs, shoes, general pin-up stuff, almost always clothed except for the occasional bondage, usually not very explicit (usually pictures taken of the back so there is only so much you can see in that situation).

The nudie ones no one gives a shit about except on MM and modelling sites big_smile

Some of the comments can be quite explicit though yikes

It used to be that most of the popular internet models i knew of had done porn at one time or another, some openly some not. But nowadays it seems that aside from glamour work people are really funny about it, girls still do it but they keep the two sides separate with psuedonyms and such.

If you are already psuedo famous it seems it can help you along a bit.

I'm actually against porn and find it quite disgusting, but, in other threads people have mentioned that this may be a positive side. I don't believe it, but that's ONE of the positive things that OTHER PEOPLE believe may come from it.
I NEVER recommended it or said that I thought it was positive.

Sheesh!

Which one?
Large probability of oral sex experience?
Small probability of oral sex experience?
(would you say the attitude has changed with respect to the previous generation?)

It's okay to pleasure yourself or your partner to porn.

But it's not okay that people actually make it?

I'll have to agree with you there. Some people taking an open leg body shot which is obviously a sexualized a glamour style shot to call it ''art'' nude is a complete joke to me.
But I totally see it from Zara's perspective and would have to agree with her too.

Well a very experienced & pro model said to me that while she's quite happy with nude posing she never does open leg work, as once you start doing that that's all you'll do.

I can think of quite a few, very successful online models who have done adult work and still regularly book art, commercial and beauty work.

Also depends on your definition of porn - I prefer to stick to what's defined as adult by the industry, rather than what the 'general public' see as porn.

Not necessarily. I shot more explicit work for awhile in 2009, through the early part of 2010. When I reached a point where I no longer wanted to shoot that type of content, I listed myself as unavailable for explicit erotic work, and people stopped offering those jobs to me. *shrug*

It is pretty easy to just not accept erotic work offers. You can just say, "No thanks. I am currently focusing on art nudes." Whatever.
