The rooms were nice, the cost was inexpensive, and the staff was very courteous. *shrugs* Thought I'd throw that bit of info out there *grins* Is it totally bizarre that I always seem to think of the french toast from the diner when this event comes to mind? *cough* among other things... *giggles*

There is still a bar though, yes? The front desk being a bar seems like its a bigger bar than before now. ^_^

This is getting sad... all the other DEAC's people would connect and schedule on MM and to a lesser extent DEACGroup. Now its just 2 weeks till the event and we are on page 3... either nobody is going or nobody is scheduling... either case DEAC is looking DEAD.

From what it seems to me all of the action is happening in the Facebook forum.

BTW, did you know more malicious activity happens on social networks than anywhere else. FB's attitude toward any information you post including all pictures is that anyone can use them for any reason provided they appear in your profile as public information. FB also periodically resets users profiles to default options during some updates. FB also defaults information to be public and assues you will set your privacy settings acordingly. Facebook is EVIL...

Facebook is just there and everyone has a page making it easier to talk to one another I think. And why can't DEAC be professional and social? Being social is just about interactiong with other like minded people. I actully got all my booking off the DEAC site and not til I was scheduled did I add or talk to them even on facebook. Also I don't think everyone has a MM page.

Yes, DEAC was created to be a working networking event, as in we create art as well as connections. The private closed Facebook group, to which everyone there was approved personally just as is on DEAC, just helps further the "networking" aspect. True, there is a lot of socializing going on in the FB group, but that just comes from those finding friendships in our trade.
