That works.

and the pose works.

I'm not sure if I get this or other arguments complaining about sexy female superhero/villains. I kind of get lost at the start. These are creations of outrageous fantasy so why should the erotic aspects be subject to particular criticism for  - being outrageous?

As I see it, a pose is "over used" when it stop paying dividends, whatever they are (money, celebrity, page views).  The kind of cool thing about the Internet is that when a visual commodity hits that threshold, it doesn't really go away.  It just slips quickly onto the far end of the "long tail"  where it can be rediscovered in a few dozen popularity life cycles as "retro." :-)

Well that's kind of the point this link makes
http://www.tor.com/blogs/2012/04/hey-ev … -i-mean-it

problem is it was down when I posted the thread, so I substituted a less persuasive link in the meantime.

There's so much more to the impact of an image than just a pose....does it fit the mood? Does it display the clothes well? Does it suit the model's figure? If the answer is "yes"....how is it a bad thing?

Seems fair to assume it works, or they wouldn't still be doing it.
