If Durant hacked Lebron, I'd want to see him on the bench, fouled out. I want the players to determine the outcome of games, not David Stern.
Fair enough. Yeah, I'll admit the outcome of the game is time for a review if in doubt...but it happens a lot. They have to call the fouls early, and consistently to set a precedent. If they're not calling the incidental contact in the 2nd, then you can't expect them to call it in the 4th. Kinda like what they did with Garnett last series....they got tired of his illegal screens and started calling them...and Garnett cut down on them after a while. Missed calls come with the territory though, and the foul on Durant wasn't blatant so I can see how it would be missed initially (no contact with arms). Even MJ's final shot wasn't called....it's nothing new at this point *shrug*
ETA: Oh, and Durant did pick up a 6th that wasn't called...even Van Gundy and Breen pointed it out. Lucky break for OKC since Durant technically shouldn't have even been on the floor to get fouled, except he was...thanks to a missed call

When was that one? I don't remember hearing them mention it.

IIRC it was in the middle of the 4th, and they gave it to Harden instead. Van Gundy said something to the effect of "Durant looks like he got away with one there".

The heat has that hungry look... OKC should get a game in Miami, but its looking real tough for them. Miami still remembers last year and learned the lesson that Dallas taught them.
Next game is the big one....I don't think OKC can overcome a 3-1 deficit against the Heat. I do think that they can easily take over a 2-2 series though. If Miami wins Tuesday it's over. Can't wait!

11 more free throws for Miami...
I saw OKC getting clobbered plenty of times, no calls.
the refs turned the game with cheap calls against Durant when OKC was starting to run away with it. And Durant had to sit out a huge part of the second half.

Miami didn't win. The refs gave it to em.
The refs also give Harden a fairly long leash between carrying the ball and fouls. Same for Perkins and Sefalosha too. Human error is involved while reffing sports...every try to ref a game? I have, it's not easy to notice everything a group of people are doing at once, not even if you're just looking only at the ball. If every foul were seen and called every time down the court the game would be over in a half, since no team would have enough players to continue.

I was fully expecting the Thunder to sweep this series, and here it looks like the Heat are going to take it pretty easily. The NBA continues to surprise.

I saw miami get foul calls when the replay showed the guy never even got touched.
it was really bad, and painfully obvious who's side the refs were on. I saw a laker game where the lakers had 20 something free throws at one point in the first half and the other team only had 3... there is just no way in helll that there is an imbalance of contact like that in reality, everyone gets hit by someone on almost every play. they just reveal who they favor with the calls. just watch the numbers, they can't hide it. was OKC that much more physical than Miami? no way.

If OKC cannot close out at least the next two games in Miami, it will ne nearly impossible for them. Miami is getting more and more aggressive with each game...

miami can't win against okc, unless the refs call 5 fouls on durant. so they do.

its the worst thing about the NBA.
Yeah, but that's the human error part. I've seen fouls where players are slapped in the face and no fouls are called....it happens *shrug* I'm sure once they go to OKC again Durant will get all the incidental contact fouls he wants, and Heat fans will be complaining. Such is the nature of the game.

After seeing what OKC did against SA I'm not counting them out until Lebron holds the trophy over his head. They're waaaaayyyyy too dangerous to give even a little breathing room. I just hope Westbrook continues playing poorly (really the only reason Miami is in this position).

In game 2 Durant fouled out, but the refs kept him in. I like Durant - I've been a fan of his since he entered the league, but OKC is starting to show some self doubt.

I want OKC to lose... So the Lakers can poach some players of their roster and the Lakers can hoist another banner in staples center. Thank God the kings stepped up huge and brought a championship to the staples center in the post season...

How can the Lakers possibly poach anyone at this point? They have almost zero cap room. They are going to have to trade Pau and release Metta, and I imagine they won't get much in return for it all.
Another good game and Lebron is really stepping up this post season. Too close to call as far as the series goes although it appears the Heat have the edge at this point.

The Lakers can afford to pay the luxury tax and the cap penalty. They are not hurting for cash.

I hope not, as much as I respect Kobe I definitely don't want him to win 6 (or more). Besides, I doubt OKC would trade anyone on the roster for anyone LA has to offer (ex. Gasol, Artest, Sessions, etc etc). They're too young with too much upside. IF the Lakers want to rent some people for one more push they're better off going for Garnett or Arenas.

Durant is not a great defender. He also has long arms, hard to get them out of the way against an aggressive player, I'm sure Miami has studied the films and also knows that it is easy to get him in the air. He will learn to adjust. He is also having to carry the scoring load, a lot to ask for. He is also guarding the best basketball player on the planet. A tough job for anyone.
The way you get calls is to go towards the basket. aggressive teams get more fouls. Jump shooting teams don't get as many calls. Watch closely, Lebron James gets hacked almost every time he goes to the basket.
If Lebron can continue to shut down Durant and be a major force offensively I think we're going to continue to see close games where the Heat have the edge and take the series.

Lebron doesn't get enough credit for his defense. He is doing a great job on Durant. Durant is young, he will learn. We may be looking at a Magic/Bird type of friendship/rivalry in the future for those two

That's the difference in this series... LeBron is going to the basket a lot more - that's why he's drawing the fouls. He's much much bigger, stronger, and faster than Durant is. Also, LeBron is a much better defender - so he can see the weaknesses in Durant's defense and he takes him to school everytime in a defensive match up. OKC is an awesome team... BUT - they are very young and are lacking the same skillsets that veteran teams have. They defeated Dallas, LA, and San Shrinking because these three teams have core players past their athletic primes.
This NOT the case with Miami. Kobe exposed a gaping hole in OKC's defense when he scored 40something points on OKC - in their own house. LeBron and D Wade have studied the tape, and are going after every flaw that Kobe exposed - with good effect too.
I'm curious to see what adjustments OKC will bring to the table next game.

It's been said that refs can control and alter the flow of the game, stoping any rhythm and momentum with a quick whistle or two. It's like sex when you're building to... then the phone rings or the pizza arrives I wouldn't doubt this goes 7 games, the only question is if the league and media decides if the bigger story is LB winning his first or choking again. I guess we'll see.

It's gotten to be pretty damn ridiculous. Lebron has been called for 1 foul in each of the Heat wins. Are we really to believe that James is that soft of a defender?
I understand that there's human error when it comes to the officials, but the only human error in this series is believing that the league would not be trying everything in its power to get Lebron his ring.
That said, The Thunder are absolutely killing themselves on free throws. When you're 15 for 24 from the line, you have to expect to lose the game.

I've gone through that quarter 3 times now, and I can't find this happening.
I also wish Erik Spoelstra would get off the damn court. He walks out to the 3 point line on just about every play. I was sure that was illegal, so I checked the rule book.
Section IV—The Coach and Others
a. The coach’s position may be on or off the bench from the 28' hash mark to the baseline. They are permitted between the 28' hash mark and the midcourt line to relay information to players but must return to the bench side of the 28' hash mark immediately or be called for a non-unsportsmanlike technical foul. A coach is not permitted to cross the midcourt line and violators will be assessed an unsportsmanlike technical foul immediately. All assistants and trainers must remain on the bench. Coaches and trainers are not permitted to go to the scorer’s table, for any reason, except during a dead ball.
Nope, I guess he can be on the court all he wants. So long as he stays away from the scorer's table.
(That's Westbrook being guarded by Spoelstra in the final 30 seconds of the game.)

Spoelstra is irritating with all the walking on the court....I remember last game when he did that and I was genuinely puzzled as to why he didn't get a technical.
