She's got some of my pics in her port with good comments and lists.
Hey, sorry I missed TT last night. I got involved in some product photography and I could not tear myself away. Found these red suede shoes at a thrift store:
They're awesome. Size 8 1/2 AA. Now I just need to find a model who can fill them.

The Lutheran Thrift Store in San Dimas on Bonita Ave. Here's another pair from that same store:
And here's some shoes from the big thrift store on Holt Blvd in Ontario:
Shot with Sony a700 Minolta 50/f2.8 macro lens.
All dirt cheap, of course. This is getting to be a FETISH. I love thrift stores!
Sorry for getting off-topic. But you know me by now.

Hmmm...maybe Charlotte will fit into those petite high heels I bought...
I have a question though, Gary. Will you be bringing any softboxes for indoor shots? Or are we on our own?
Lots of great windowlight at this location amigo... soooooooo... I'm gonna force you to bump up your ISO alittle bit and try your hand at some of the best quality light around. I know you can do it... I have faith in ya... ...

Window light will do. And maybe a reflector for the shadows. I'll bring one.
James Sioux wrote: Sure, you can try it out. The a77 will also allow you to shoot 1080p at 60fps, and the sound of the shutter going 12fps is major sweet.
So, you'll be holding a still camera in one hand and a video camera in the other?
Sure, it can be done. But then how will I juggle the two? Thus the advantage of DSLRs with video capability. A glamour group shoot is a perfect case study for using an a77 or something similar. But no matter how convenient AVCHD or MP4 is, there is something about the HDV format on tape cassette that is very appealing when used to film the human form. It is somehow smoother than those highly compressed modern formats, which are kinda 'brittle' in my opinion. (But I'll admit I have yet to see the output of 1080p at 60fps. So that will be interesting.) Here's a group shoot I did a few years ago with both my DSLR and my handycam hanging around my neck. Egads, what a hassle!
(18+) http://www.charondaglamour.com/videos/i … studio.htm (1080i @ 30fps, but highly compressed in post for video streaming) There is one photog in this movie with an a900 + CZ lens attached. See if you can find it.
This one is also compressed for streaming. The original footage is mind-blowing when viewed on an HDTV. I'd like to do more like this, just haven't found the time.

Can we bring lights, or no?
actually in the middle of an equipment switch right now (from calumets/elinchroms to einsteins for the remote power control), and my new lights should be coming in today, so I'm hoping I can try some stuff out
if not, I have the large sunbounce (6'x4') that I can bring -- rarely use it cuz it's so damn big!

Hey Bryan... ALL Select Models events are 'no deposit needed' with cash pay on signup time at the beginning of the event. Too many event promotors on Model Mayhem have ripped off photographers in the past with event deposits required... only to cancel or re-schedule the event (many times to a date you can't attend) and party with the ripped off photographers money. I've conducted over 300 successful events and have never required photographers to send in deposits. That my friend is a viable and trustworthy work ethic...

that's about what I was thinking. I just sold my BD and the new one hasn't come in yet, but i got some of my new gear in, so i'll be there with a strobe and a small PLM.

I'll be bringing 2 California Sunbounce reflectors for anyone to use both indoors and outdoors...
Whoever wins that free ($500 value) 'Mexican Cruiseboat Photoshoot' ticket is gonna be attending one Hell of a fantastic event... with SIXTEEN models attending in September... AND... one photographer attending THIS (10+ model) shoot will be that lucky guy...

You exaggerate! You have to keep some meat on your bones. Otherwise that bikini will fall off during the shoot and Gary will get arrested. If Gary gets arrested then no more free guacamole & chips! Have you thought about that?
