i think i recall seeing a thread and advertisement here fo a speedlight mounted diffuser that split the light into 2 components and then reflected it to the left and right of the speedlight to small diffusers.  i have searched without luck.

anybody else recall this and have a link to the product?  or maybe it was to a diy site to make something of the sort.

help, please?  otherwise i shall continue searching in the dark. thanks

It doesn't look any worse than the Tupperware thing but I'd like to hear of someone in the forums giving a review.

I like your point, and I like the way you were polite about it.

ive not seen split tupperware thingies.  only one direction. while i have my concerns as to how much light actually gets pushed out of each side after accounting for mirror/prism and other losses it does appear to be unique in the floor/ceiling or two sided approach.

EDIT: found this on their website. with all the random catchlights in the eyes, it appears to be a diabolical way to confuse those (how did they do this?) threads smile

for close up flower (or bug) photographer a used vivitar ringlight would be a better investment.  they go for under 60$ on eBay all the time.  They were designed for close up work.  dentists used to use them then suddenly the market was flooded with used ones so someone must have designed something that dentists 'had' to have.

much better than any diffuser setup
